Today we will: work with r-controlled words
So that we can: decode and read, correctly, words with r-controlled vowels
We know we have it when we: read and spell r-controlled words in our workbook and
other writings
Hook: Using superkid paper, the students will write full name and 5 words from last
lesson
Procedure: Lesson: 278- r-controlled vowels page and then sequencing page assessing
comprehension of the story previously read. Daily routine of students reading questions
and giving answers and teacher modeling under the document camera
Questioning: Name 3 of the featured words we wrote on our whiteboards, give an example
of an r-controlled vowel
Evaluation: Teacher Observations and Questioning; Student Input; writing "hook" words;
workbook/textbook pages
Materials: workbooks, pencil bags, superkid paper, markers, sock erasers,
document camera, computer, smartboard
