Conflict

Plot
Instructions: Take time now to plan the course of events in your narrative. The conflict you
selected earlier should be the driving force in your story. Answer these questions in complete
sentences.

When Bruno decides to investigate the camp, he knows that something is wrong. We see the

camp through the eyes of Bruno, a child and an innocent, but even he feels that something isn't
right.

Knowing the conflict your character faces, what will the turning point be for him or her?
Begin outlining the plot by starting with the climax. How does he or she get to that point?
(Thats the exposition and rising action.) How is he or she changed as a result of the turning
point? (Thats the falling action and resolution.) The climax would be when Bruno crawls user
the prisoners fence. He leaves his clothes and boots on the other side, The two boys go look
around for Shmuels father who has gone missing. The falling action would be Bruno and
Shmuel are in the camp trying to find Shmuels father. Resolution is that Bruno and Shmuel are
locked in the gas chamber awaiting their despair. And Brunos mother discovers his clothes and
boots on the other side of the fence.
