Henderson, Timothy J. beyond Borders: A History

of Mexican Migration
to the United States.
Malden, Mass.: Wiley-Blackwell, 2011. Print
In the book Beyond Borders Henderson talks about
immigration from Mexico to the United States across the
border. Mexicans make 93 percent of surreptitious border
crossers. When Mexicans come to the United States they
get used to the society in about two to three generations.
He also talks about how the only way to reduce Mexican
immigration is if Mexico and the United States work
together.

Hernandez Leon, Ruben. Metropolitan Migrants the

Migration of Urban Mexicans to the United States.
Berkeley: U of California, 2008. Print.
Ruben explains how the economy of Mexico is and
why a lot of immigrants come to get a better job to
support and provide for their families. When Mexicans
come to the Unites States they come as hard working
people to become successful in life and learn from there
past and improve. Their also very respectful and
responsible for their actions and chooses they face every
day. Americans tend to always judge them, for not having
papers and being a different race/color; but that shouldnt

even matter because we are all humans who to do

everything possible to give a better life to their families.
Johnson, Kevin R., and Bernard Trujillo.
Immigration Law and the U.S.-Mexico Border si Se
Puede? Tucson: U of Arizona, 2011. Print.
Both authors try to demonstrate to both cultures
from either side of the border how the problems are with
the 2,000 mile border separating both countries. USA and
Mexico have a history that keeps them both together
starting with the border and how the United States seized
the land from Mexico in between 1836 and 1853. Both
countries are together might as well fix the conflicts
surrounding both.

French, Laurence. Running the Border Gauntlet the

Mexican Migrant Controversy. Santa Barbara,
Calif.: Praeger, 2010. Print.
Based on American perspective legal or undocumented
migrants are seen as cheap labor source and threat to
society. They are a bad image to the United States; for
not having documents to work. Why are they seen like
that if there only trying to have a better life they couldnt
get in Mexico, American people dont know the struggle
of how life is over there and what an impact it is when
they come over here.

Dreby, Joanna. Divided by Borders: Mexican

Migrants and Their Children. Berkeley, Calif.: U of
California, 2010. Print.
Dreby talks about how almost up to 440,000
Mexicans come to the United States every year since the
year of 2000. Many Mexicans come to the United States
to get a better job but one main sacrifice Americans dont
noticed is that Mexicans leave their children in Mexico.
They know its difficult to get here in the first place and
thats why mostly everyone leaves their family back
home. Mexicans go years without seeing their family
members and people dont seem to care how it affects
them when theyre here trying to get a better opportunity
to have a stable job and send families their needs.
Children get left behind at a young age and its difficult to
have your parents in the United States not being able to
see them but parents do it for a better future for them.
Families shouldnt get separated, its not right because
then children think parents dont care but its the
opposite because they only come here to get a better life,
provide for them and family. Mexicans are hardworking
people with great intentions.
