Objectives:

1. After viewing a video about El Tren a Las Nubes and reading an authentic paragraph about it,
the student will be able to correctly state specifically where the train is, what it is used for, and
why it has the name that it does.
2. After reading a short authentic text about El Tren a Las Nubes the student will be able to
recognize and define 10 different cognates between the Spanish and English language with
95% accuracy.

because it is above their level (but
has many cognates)

Students will listen to the teacher read the

paragraph and then search in the
paragraph to find the 10 cognates. They
will write down the Spanish equivalent of
each one.

Give students a picture that

represents a fact that was read about
in the reading. Display a
organizational web on the board.

Based on the picture, in groups, students

will find the fact in the reading and write it
in big font on the picture.
