Just Before It Rains

A little rabbit is picking wild flowers on the slope of a mountain. He
is holding a little basket.
It is very hot. The little rabbit stands straight up and wipes his sweat
away. Suddenly a swallow flies over him.
The little rabbit shouts, Dear Swallow, why are you flying so low?
The swallow says, Its going to rain. There is plenty of water vapour
in the air. The bugs get wet and cant fly high. Im trying to catch them!
Then, the little rabbit comes to a fish pond. He sees many fish
coming to the water surface.
The little rabbit goes closer and asks one of them, Little Fish, what
makes you come to the water surface today?
The little fish says, Its going to rain. The air is getting thinner in
the water. So we have to come to the surface for fresh air. Hurry, go home
before you get wet.
The little rabbit starts to run home. On his way, he sees some ants
moving their home. He bends down and asks, Dear ants, why are you
moving to a new place?
One of them says. Its going to rain. We must hurry and move to a
higher place before our home gets flooded.
The little rabbit runs home even faster. He thinks, Mummy is drying
some paddy outside the house. I must tell her about the rain!
At that moment, the mother rabbit is anxiously waiting at the door
for her son.
When the little rabbit sees his mother from afar, he shouts,
Mummy, its going to rain! Hurry and bring in the paddy!
Ive already brought them in, says the mother rabbit with a big
smile. By the way, how do you know that its going to rain?

The little rabbit answers proudly, The swallow is flying low, the fish
are coming to the water surface, and the ants are moving their home.
These are all the signs.
The mother rabbit laughs and says, You seem to have learned quite
a lot!
At that very moment, raindrops start to fall. Soon there is heavy
rain.

Rain on the grass

Rain on the trees
Rain on the rooftops
But not on me!

My dear friends,
Many animals in nature possess an inborn ability that enables them
to react promptly to their surroundings. Whenever the weather changes
these animals will show an acute reaction to it.
