RL.1.9- Compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in stories.

1. When finished reading a story, the student will be able to compare and contrast the adventures and experiences
of characters in a story with their personal experiences by listing at least 3 similarities and differences.

Formative Assessment:
1. While reading the story, I will have the students raise a green or red popsicle stick- representing
similarities and differences- whenever they hear a similarity or difference that relates to the students
lives
Summative Assessment:
1. The students will turn and talk to a partner and discuss the terms compare and contrast and why it is
important to know and understand the difference between the two terms
