Authors Agreement
Gallaudet University Press (hereafter the Publisher) is pleased to accept the publication of your article titled
PRINT YOUR ARTICLE TITLE HERE________________________________________________________________________
Deaf/Hearing Research Partnerships
(hereafter, the Work) in the Press-produced journal, American Annals of the Deaf.
Copyright Assignment
1.1 The Author hereby transfers, grants, and assigns the entire copyright for the Work to CEASD for its exclusive use. If your Work
contains any copyrighted material, you agree to obtain written permission form the copyright holder before publication of the Work.
1.2 Once the Contribution has been published by the Publisher, the Publisher grants to the Author the right to reprint, and authorize
others to reprint, the Contribution in any book that he or she edits or authors, subject only to giving proper credit in the book to the
original publication of the Contribution in the American Annals of the Deaf.
1.3 Should an Author desire to post in electronic form work in its final form as it was originally published in the American Annals of
the Deaf, the following stipulations shall apply:
a. Before any agreement between the Publisher and the Author can be completed, the Author must disclose whether she or he is
bound by regulations of an institution with which she or he is affiliated to make all published works available on an open-access
Internet site in their published format.
b. If an author asks the Publisher to honor a nonbinding request by any institution with which he or he is affiliated to make a
published work available on an open-access Internet site in its final published form, the following conditions shall apply:
(1) Gallaudet University Press shall receive a one-time payment of $100, either from the Author or the institution, for each
work for which such a request is made.
(2) The following credit notice shall appear on the first page of the work: Reprinted [or Posted] by permission of the
publisher from [Authors name], [Title of Article], American Annals of the Deaf [volume, issue (year): 000000].

Representations and Warranties
2.1 The Author represents and warrants that the Contribution has not been previously published in any form, including electronic
form, and is not in the public domain, except as the Author has advised the
2.2 The Author represents and warrants that no other agreement to publish this Contribution is now outstanding and the rights granted
hereunder have not been previously assigned, transferred, or otherwise encumbered.
Indemnification
3.1 The Author shall defend, indemnify, and hold the Publisher and CEASD harmless from and against any claims, suits, demands,
liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, or settlements, including all reasonable costs and expenses related thereto including attorneys
fees, directly or indirectly resulting from any claimed breach of any of the foregoing representations and warranties.
If the foregoing terms are satisfactory, please sign, date, and return this agreement.
