Introduction: This book is called Cornelius by Leo Lionni.

Set Purpose: Its about a crocodile who was born different from the
other crocodiles and not everyone accepts him for who he is. Lets see
how he reacts. What do you notice that is different about him? Where do
you think he is going?

Upright: standing on back two legs
Disappointed: upset or sad
Think aloud: I wonder why he hatched standing upright? The other
crocodiles were upset because he was different. Why do you think the
crocodiles are so annoyed? Where do you think he is going? Why do you
think he is upset? Looks like the monkey is happy to learn about what
makes Cornelius different. It seems like Cornelius wants to learn more
tricks even though the other crocodiles werent happy with him. Unlike
the other crocodiles that were mad at Cornelius, the money wanted to
help him. Do you think the other crocodiles will be happy with his new
tricks? The new crocodiles still dont look too happy, do they? They waited
for Cornelius to leave before trying the new tricks.
