WEEK 6 WRITE A BLOG POST!

Violence in video games is irrelevant, and that gamers can clearly draw the
line between video games and reality.
Keith Stuart wrote an article in a November 10, 2014 edition of the guardian stating
Long-term research into homicide rates and depictions of violence in video games and
movies shows no significant relationship. I agree completely as new studies shows the
effects of violent movies and video games has found no long-term links with real-life
violence.
If I read the March 24, 2014 Time article by Alice Park correctly, she states that video
games and violence on television can prompt individuals to react violently. I believe
people that is mesmerized or fixed on violence in games and/or television is just that
fixed on violence. These individuals have an existing evil within. The violent games
and/or television shows may fuel the fire or encourage them to react on what is
already in their minds and hearts. Of course this is not normal, there is an apparent
mental issue. This is just my personal opinion.
I also read a few articles about Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the Columbine shooters
in the Columbine High School Massacre, and learned these two young men were just
disturbed, deranged, angry and full of hate individuals. According to their journals, they
idealized Hitler, they were avid fans of KMFDM, an industrial band led by German
multi-instrumentalist Sascha Konietzko. There were several lyrics of this band posted
on both gentlemen websites and the date of the massacre, April 20 th, is the birthdate of
Adolf Hitler. This too was noted in Eric Harris journal. I also read Eric Harris and
Dylon Klebold were bullied and ridiculed constantly and some teachers were quite
aware but did absolutely nothing. This definitely did not smother the rage that was
building up in these boys, but enraged them more.
Again, I believe people that is mesmerized or fixed on violence in games and/or
television is born with an evil or to be politically correct, have some mental disorder of
some sort. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold was not on this earth long enough to
otherwise encounter such evil. Other than being bullied and mistreated by their peers,
this type of rage isnt unwarranted. Just my opinion again!
Despite years of research, definitive links have not been found, partially because
laboratory tests into aggression can only measure short-term aggressive reactions, and
partly due to the countless other psychological and sociocultural stimuli that play a part
in violent behavior.
