Reflection
It was a wonderful feeling to observe that the students were so glad
for the lesson as the first teaching. It is totally motivate me to keep
up going on. I started introducing day, date name of the unit and
lesson on PowerPoint. It is so important step to start lesson in this
way. I discussed classroom rules with my students to make sure of
following each rule. I also motivate them by showing certificate as
rewarding. A student who follow rules and participate will get
certificate as reward as keep up going on. As Behaviorism stated
that using positive reinforcement helps students to develop skills
and create environment like competition to challenge (n.d).
Next, I informed students the learning objective that should achieve
it at the end. It seemed to me that students were so excited to start
learning about recycle. In engagement stage, I showed a students a
video about recycle to build their knowledge. I noticed that students
were so happy while watching a video and they hoped to watch it
again. As Brunner stated that when students watch a picture and
model assists them to acquire knowledge at the same time be
excited to learn (2014). In exploring parent was making experiment
with plastic bottle to recycle it. However, I can't apply this
experiment for students, because the students don't bring bottles. It
could be my responsibly to bring plastic bottles for students. But,
the teacher informed me is better students bring their bottles such
independent learning. This activity promoted promoted bodily
kinesthetic of learning style by using tools to take effective action
while do experiment ( Silver , Strong & Perini, 2016). It was
sorrowful that experiment not applied to develop students' skill and
learn more about recycling. But, I helped students to do another
recycle project with them about make airplane. So, the students be
aware of importance recycle in our life. Then, I gave each group
poster that stick plastic bottle picture in the middle. I informed
students to think of how can use plastic bottle again instead of
throwing in the garbage. I gave students 10 minutes to do the
activity. I realized that should show students a timer next time. That
is because, students not sure how many time left to work. So, I
decided next time show students a timer to manage time. The
perfect strategy that I applied was working group to solve activity.
As Vygostky mentioned that discussing way is helping students to
collaborate and that move them on higher level of learning ( n.d). It
means that each student has different idea, so when they
collaborate together pick up critical ideas. After, I selected a student
from each group to present works. It seemed to me that students
wrote good answers. After that I showed different picture on display
to discover the ways that recycle plastic, mental, paper and glass. I

noticed that students were interactive while do this active. I think

that because students love visual activities in learning. But, they
prefer bodily kinesthetic to do activities. At the end, I did plenary
with students to evaluate their understanding. I asked them
different question that related to video and activities that did. I
noticed that students were involving while answer question. In total,
I discussed the feedback with my teacher to keep up going on points
and improve others. I think that the first lesson was a perfect and I
was so proud of me. The things that think to improve it are using
timer, using simple instruction and give students more time in
discussing activity to write their answers. As a consequence, I used
different strategies strategies in teaching that related to essential
teaching skill ( Kyriacou, 2008). As a teacher I acquired skills that
should apply for students. For example, how to teach, classroom
management and students behave.
