Immigration has always been an important topic for every country and it will be for many
years. Immigration is the movement of people to the country where they are not native with the
purpose to settle there. Immigration, legal or illegal, is a huge issue right now. Debates rage
about how many immigrants should be allowed into the country and how zealously we should
guard out the border from illegal immigrants. The politicians of the U.S. need to learn that
because they cannot get rid of immigration they need to develop a better way to deal with
immigration. Politicians do not know that immigration happens because people are not happy in
their home country and they are looking for a better living in a new home. The U.S. is known to
be a country where many opportunities are available and this is why many decide to migrate to
the U.S. Like the constitution says We The People a country is built of people and the people
need to obtain what they believe will make them reach happiness where they decide to be. It just
results that many people go out and look for their happiness in the U.S.
Pope Francis recently said the measure of the greatness of a society is found in the way
it treats those most in need. For generations, people have come to America in search of a better
life for themselves and their families, and America has welcomed these people of good will. But
today, the enormous underclass of undocumented workers and immigrant workers are scared that
someday their families will be separated or their rights will be taken away. Hundreds of migrants
who die in the American desert each year in their quest to pursue the American dream must not
be forgotten by the U.S. because these people deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.
The U.S. cannot be indifferent to this issue the U.S. needs to be compassionate about the
immigration problem and do something to help immigrants.

After looking and evaluating all the information I learned from my research that although
there is not a solution that will work with all immigrants, there is a lot that politicians can do in
order to help immigrants and detain illegal immigration. I think that the U.S. should keep the
millions of immigrants that are already in the U.S. because sending them back to their home
countries would be expensive. I propose to create a reform in which all immigrants have to pass
a background check, illegal substance test and have to prove that they are working and willing to
pay taxes. Immigrants who refuse to pay taxes like every other citizen will have to leave, or
failing to pass a background check or an illegal substance test will also be a motive for an
immigrant to be asked to leave the country.
For the immigrants who want to enter the U.S. the same process will follow however the
U.S. will have a determined amount of immigrants allowed to enter for the year. Then the
immigrants who dont achieve entrance to the U.S. will enter in a waiting list and wait for the
next year. The main points of this reform is that immigrants need to learn the culture, the
language, help society and keep a clean record, in order to remain in the U.S. or to enter. Putting
immigrants in a waiting list will put hopes to many because when a spot opens a person will be
allowed to enter the U.S. The point of the waiting list is that the immigrants who have done bad
will be kicked out and they will be replaced by another person who can make the country
prosper. This reform is to benefit the U.S. because there will be an immigration flow however all
the immigrants will make America a prospering country. The reform I propose is just one of
many ideas, but I think it will work because this reform only allows people who are willing to
prosper and do good to enter and stay in the U.S.
