OTHER EXPERIENCE
Europe 2014

During summer break in 2014 I spent two months alone in Europe doing work-stays. In
Poland I lived with a family who were language teachers for three weeks. I spent some
time in their English classroom at a Polish high school and visited the class of their young
son, giving me a perspective on Polish schools. The parents also held private tutoring
sessions which I took over as part of my work-stay agreement. I taught English four
hours a day, four days a week, to three groups of students who ranged from beginner to
intermediate level. The next three weeks were spent near Hamburg with a German
family to help their youngest son practice English. My final two weeks were spent
exploring Amsterdam, Berlin and Brussels.
