Dear Dr. Mun,

Over the last four months I gained knowledge and experience through beginning
student teaching curriculum and fieldwork hours. This knowledge and experience have
both been essential to prepare me to become an effective teacher.
I am very pleased to share my portfolio with you. I have documented my theory and
pedagogical understandings. I am completing this portion of my journey with
indispensible skills, strategies and understandings that will allow me to make content
accessible to all learners. I have learned how to develop comprehensive lesson plans
using state standard aligned approach. I have also learned the necessity to plan for
necessary adaptations for unique needs of all learners. You will see that I also have a
deep understanding of knowing my students and the importance of reflection. Reflection
has been an irreplaceable tool to guide my growth as an educator and will model a lifetime behavior for students.
I am especially eager to share my student engagement and learning environment
pages. These two topics are extremely important in my personal philosophy for the
classroom. You will find examples and action plans I intend to apply in my advanced
student teaching. I am wholeheartedly eager to create a welcoming learning
environment that will develop a safe learning community, empower my students and
increase their motivation.
Thank you for reviewing my portfolio and for your part in my journey to become an
educator. In my electronic portfolio you will see the evident of my preparation for
advanced student teaching. I look forward to utilizing the evidence I have collected
during my beginning student teaching to answers any questions you may have.
Sincerely,

Destiny Ramos
