A Night Full of Feelings
The poem is classified as a type of ballad; it has a variety of rhymes schemes and is
composed of four stanzas with four verses in each one of them. The poem shows the feelings and
regrets that the character feels in a certain situation. It circles around the part of the story when
Gon tells Killua You have it easy, since it means nothing to you. It describes what Killua
thought, how he felt and how he reacted after hearing those words from his best friend. The
narrative voice establishes a tone of loneliness, it indicates the pain and trouble the character was
going through. Its a simple and well understanding poem that tells a story of what would have
happened.
In the start of the poem, the character is described sadden as tears were filling his eyes
and then tells us that he seemed strong but was hurt inside. Its making us pictured that the
character was feeling sad and about to cry for some unknown reason, but as it described later
someone was trying to act strong but was really hurting, as this can relate to why he was feeling
that way in the start. Saying I didnt care were only lies/I wanted to save him and become his
guide this two verses were describing part of the situation, the character lied about a certain
situation and now was starting to regret it, as he was only trying to save his friend and guide him
from the problems in which he was trapped.

In the second paragraph the character is portrayed as analyzing what was really going on
in that situation; as it said that words never meant anything we could picture him as a cold and
hard feeling person that always avoided getting hurt. In the next verse it said these felt like a
sharped knife/cutting out of my chest my whole life a poetic device, in this case a simile is used
to compare the pain that he felt the moment when he heard those words and how they hit him. In
this case it described the words as painful as a knife cutting your chest wide opened.
Anger and loneliness consumed my soul/without saying a word I left him alone Here
its said that some feelings were starting to consume his soul leaving him without a conscience.
He left his friend alone walking away from him knowing that he couldnt control himself
anymore. After leaving his friend its said that he approached one of his enemies and he left him
a hole in the chest with his hand. These two verses portrait how he started releasing and taking
all of his anger out in a single foe as he couldnt control how he felt.
In the last paragraph its shown how he ended when all of his emotions were starting to
leave his body. In the next verse a personification is used to describe his surroundings; you can
picture how electricity dances around his body, trying to get him away from everybody else.
Here it means that the electricity was trying to protecting him as it surrounded him and also
protect everyone around him as well since it was trying to get him away from them. In the end it
said As my light disappeared into the night/reality started to break me apart In here when it
says my light its referring to his friend that was always the light that shined so bright that
guided him through his darkness, when it said that it disappeared it meant that he lost himself
and became another person. As for reality started breaking me apart it meant that he finally
accepted the truth of what was going on between him and his friend and it started killing him
slowly.

The story of the poem ended leaving the character in a broken and saddened state that let
the reader wondering what happened next. The structure and words used in the poem were
simple making it easy to read and understand. A variety of poetic devices were used in a matter
to compare and make a more elegant way to portrait the situation in which the character
expressed his feelings. The poem represented a state and part of the story where the main
character was going through a confusion of feelings. It filled the void created in the original story
were the feelings of the character werent shown at all.
