Project 1: The area

of concern is the
lack of morale and
campus culture.
Teachers in
respective grade
levels dont have
enough
opportunities for
team building and
collaboration.

Lockhart ES has a high teacher

turnover rate. Each year a
plethora of teachers leave, and
new teachers (including a high
percentage of first-year
teachers) join the team. Every
year returning teachers are
shuffled around from grade
level to grade level. It is for the
aforementioned reasons teachers
experience difficulty fostering
collaborative and trusting
relationships among their teams.
It is imperative to foster a
campus culture of collaboration
and support.

December 2014-Present
1) Met with the principal to
discuss team-building
activities that would help
build morale among
teaching teams. These
activities would be
organized at the monthly
faculty meetings effective
January of 2016.
2) Provide a list of needed
materials for each activity.
3) Helped to organize
teacher socials, prayer
groups, and an informal
committee of teachers that
motivate teachers.

March 3rd, 2016 at 5:30pm. The
purpose of this event is to

February 2016
-Met with team to discuss
the specific needs for each
grade level. Each grade
level needed two
representatives for the
night (reading and math

responsible for creating a
PowerPoint presentation
reviewing Lockhart
policies, and providing
STAAR information
specific to the respective
grade level. Each teacher
was responsible for
providing copies of sample
STAAR questions for
parents to have.
-Create folders for every
student in grades 3-5. The
folders included student
common assessment,
snapshot, and benchmark
data, along with specific
TEKS that students did and
did not master.
