I am writing this letter to highly recommend Sarah Lecus for a position as a secondary science
teacher. Sarah Lecus is a teacher candidate for my sixth period Academic Biology class. In addition,
Sarah is also student teaching and observing in my Honors Biology class, as well as Paul Fleischers
Physical Science class. Sarah and I are also partnered with SSU through the AAAEL program.
From day one, Sarah has been actively involved in my classroom and has been in my classroom
above and beyond what is required of her by the Credential Program. Sarah has become increasingly
active in leading lessons and has taken over as lead teacher for spring semester. She plans and
implements the daily assignments, labs, and lectures. Sarahs extensive work experience in the field of
Biology and Ecology is apparent. She excels at delivering the content objectives to the students in an
engaging manner and she successfully demonstrates her awareness of different learning styles through
her varied presentation of the material. Sarahs growing ability to adjust instruction to meet the
different needs of her students is obvious in her conscientious manner of asking questions, guiding
students to the answers, challenging students when appropriate, and recognizing when she needs to
provide more or less instruction when necessary. In addition, she is successful in monitoring and
adjusting to various schedule changes in order to complete her learning segments. Sarah has a great
rapport with the students and they respect her.
Sarah possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. She is well dressed, articulate, extremely
well prepared, organized, reliable and reflective. Sarah is well respected by the members of our
Science Team and she has created strong positive working relationships in our department.
There is no doubt that Sarah Lecus is on her way to becoming a strong, effective educator. Her
multiple experiences in volunteering to teach and work with youth from elementary to high school in a
variety of sciences adds to her repertoire of growing skills, abilities, and expertise in this field.
I am confident that Sarah will be an asset to any staff that she works with. She is confident,
collaborative, creative, knowledgeable, and possesses the skills of a seasoned teacher. Sarah will be
