ACTIVITY

Standard #3: Learning Environments: The teacher works with others to create environments
that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction,
active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.

Name of Artifact: Instant Activity Reflection

Date: May 1, 2016
Course: EDUC 240 Health & Physical Ed for Teacher

Brief Description: For this assignment, I was required to perform instant activity in the class
which needed to be about 10 to 15 minutes in duration. After doing the activity with the class, I
have to write personal reflection about the activity along with National PE Standards and Indiana
PE Standards in understanding more about PE curriculum and lessons for elementary students.

Rationale: To document my understanding to Standard # 3: Learning Environment, I decided to

include my Instant Activity Reflection. This lesson activity shows my ability to create learning
environment for students that encourage positive social interaction with peers through physical
activities.

ACTIVITY

Personal Reflection:
When I saw this activity in YouTube, I think that it was going to be an easy but effective
activity since the video clip was about 3 minutes. In reality, it made me exhausted and my
heartbeat fast after complete the whole exercise. The whole step-by-step activity is as follows:
1. Marching
2. Jumping up and down (first

5. Triceps squad (legs apart)

6. Stepping and clapping side to

big and then little)

3. Lifting knees up to hands

side
7. Star jumping
8. Punching into the air, down

alternately
4. Kicking to the bottom

low, and in front

9. Marching again

backward alternately
10.

This aerobic exercise for children can be used for any grades by adjusting

repetition. The activities can be used only for a warm-up activity or introductory activity
before real lessons to give students an opportunity to warm up and be active, get their
muscle ready for more activities and manage them into this setting. When students shut
down in the middle of the class, this activity can be used to refresh their mind as
motivation. For adults, this can be a simple stretching exercise early in the morning, and
at work, and an actual workout by making some adjustment and improvement. When I
performed this instant activity in the class, the whole class thought that it would be easy
since this was designed for children. Everybody was exhausted than they thought after
doing the activity. Their heartbeat was running fast and they enjoyed the activity as well.
As personally, I really enjoyed it and it would be useful and affective for indoor recess for
unpleasant weather.
