Activity Title: identification and propagation
Skill Level: Beginning Intermediate (High school)
Learner Outcomes:
1) Students will understand the difference between different common
house hold plants
2) Students will understand the requirements those common indoor plants have.
3) Students will understand the different propagation methods for the plants learned.
4) Students will understand why there are different propagation methods depending on
the type of plant.

Time Needed: one class period for presentation, could do one propagation
method one day and some the other day if time runs out.
Introduction Ask students to answer the questions on the board and then
take 5 minutes to discuss their answers.
Opening Questions: Why are some crops started from seed while other
crops are started asexually? How do commercially prepared rooting
hormones improve propagation?
