Totaltimethusfar:60minutes

Reflection:
ThislessonwasimplementedonalatestartThursdaywhichonlyallowsfora60minute
classperiod.IstillstartedwithCNNStudentNews,butdesignedthecontentofthelessonina
waywherethestudentscoulduseclasstimetodoresearchandworkingroups.Byallowing

mostoftheclasstimeforstudentstoworkontheirresearch,theywerereallyabletopullthrough
withthegoalofunderstandingwhatleadtothesecivilrightsvictories.Studentsalsodidagreat
jobofsharingtheirinformation,sothatbytheend,everyoneleftknowingalotmoreaboutallof
thesevictoriesthentheydidbefore.Iwilladmit,however,thatthiswasoneofthemoreboring
lessonsforthestudents.IfIweretoreteachthisIwouldcomeupwithamoreengagingactivity
thatwouldaccomplishthesamegoals.
