Objective questions require thorough reading of all the topics covered, like the constitutional provisions pertaining to language etc. Maxims, legal terms (general words) and foreign words must be thoroughly studied. A reading comprehension passage of 5-6 marks may be expected. Time management is crucial if the passage is longer. The students are advised to practice the RC material provided in the class. For detailed questions some topics are more commonly asked in the Law test papers, so study them thoroughly; historical background of Law and Language, comparative study of language and law, solutions to the problem of legal language, English as the medium of legal language in India, use of language in SC and High Courts, note on transformation of sentences, authorities in a moot memorial, parts of a deed, importance of counselling, importance of translation in the field of law etc. English to Hindi and Hindi to English translation are generally included in the question paper. Some of the topics that are generally included in this section are: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The preamble of the Indian constitution and the Fundamental Rights like the Right to Equality etc. A copy of the official Hindi translation of the UDHR has been already distributed. It may be useful to learn the Hindi version by heart. For the essay type questions; importance of legal language, scope and domain of Legal Language, the rules of drafting, problems of Legal Language, special problem of Legal language in India, Different parts of a moot memorial may be thoroughly studied. Make sure that you read the directions and every single question carefully. Attempt every question and allocate time in proportion to the weight age of the question. Above all, do not lose your nerve!
