Lesson Goals:
Students will read aloud, with new vocabulary, fluently. They will comprehend,
and be able to use, the words Entrepreneur, Innovation, Invention, Trait.
Lesson Objective(s):
Students will read aloud to learn about personal traits. They will then identify,
and share, some of the positive traits they possess within themselves, which
could help them to be entrepreneurs.
MATERIALS AND RESOURCES
Instructional Materials:
Junior Achievement key cards (a-d), My Traits Inventory Cards, Entrepreneur
Poster, Challenge Posters set (1-4), Entrepreneur Eraselets
Resources: Classroom chalkboard to hang posters, my husbands legal
trademark, and product.

My husband is an entrepreneur, and innovator. Show picture, legal trademark,


and product, the Anti-Goat Curse Cubbie bell.

entrepreneurial traits, after thinking carefully.

What makes someone an Entrepreneur? Give away Eraselet
entrepreneur bracelet, say Entrepreneurs erase their mistakes and
try again

Pedagogical Strategy (or Strategies):


Children come to understand new vocabulary, (entrepreneur, innovation, traits,
and invention) by identifying their own positive traits.

Differentiated Instruction: If a student has trouble reading aloud from the traits
card, (or cannot read at grade level) I will help that student to sound out the
word, or I will repeat the word, and they can then say it, too. All students who
want to share will be able to do so.
Assessment: (Type of assessment, rational for choosing specific assessment and how it will be used
to gauge student learning and instruction) Attach assessment piece to lesson plan.
Students will demonstrate the ability to Orally read grade-level appropriate or higher texts aloud, which
will be documented upon completion by notation of each child to read accurately unfamiliar multi-

syllabic words in context within my records/gradebook.
