Part A :-

Engineering is the art and science of means regulation and innovation, studies
carried out by the engineer plays a very big role in the development of the state,
measured by the extent of the development of civilization its buildings that are the role
of civil and architect, environmental and health is the role of chemical engineer and
the architect of the environment, and Providing resources to eat as food and water and
that the role of the engineer agriculture and food, also we dont forget the
technological development that electronic engineers care about, and we dont
remember who brighten our ways they are electrical engineers. Finally, manufacturing,
operation and development of technology is the role of mechanics engineers. The
engineers has many responsibilities and a great role in building and developing the
country.
The electrical engineer has the major role in the community because the
community is linked to the evolution of the engineer. They have many roles to do in
their job such as, designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling
electrical components, Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing information. Also, Evaluates electrical systems, products, components,
and applications by designing and conducting research programs, Inspect completed
installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment.
Moreover, Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss engineering projects
and finally propose amendments to the products and review it.
For that evolution happens engineer must adhere to many of the responsibilities,
for example, recording, analyzing and interpreting customer data, attending meetings
on site to be sure of what is done and interact with others at work, to satisfy customers
to investigate complaints about the products. Therefore, they evaluate customer
concerns and recommended solutions for these issues. To come up with new ideas for
engineering projects or products. Finally, Electrical engineers design products that
could harm consumers if they are not adequately planned or built. This means that
electrical engineers have a responsibility to take the right decisions. Electrical
Engineers must be honest and factual claims about the results of their research, and
disclose immediately the issues that could pose a danger to the public or the
environment.
To sum up, Electrical Engineering is one of the disciplines required and
abundance in companies, universities, and government departments because it
manufactures most of the equipment and devices of all kinds. Also, the engineer can
have many jobs everywhere and can work in any profession is different from the
university specialization. Furthermore, engineering is the engineering of life in all its
forms; a real engineer is not who only plans for projects, but plans his life and his future.

Duties that must be performed on engineer:

1- Workers control and supervision of their work.
2- Labor inspection tours of the site to prove the efficiency of doing business.
3- Coordination with project managers to put the final touches on the scope of
electrical engineering for the entire project to become on right way.
4- Preparation of technical reports for the work and the technical specifications for
electrical equipment.
5- Configure the appropriate management team and projects, and provide all the
needs of employees
6- Estimate and Review design packages for electrical systems and equipment (i.e.
motors, generators, Power Transformers, switchgear, distribution network, power
outlets, GIS, GIS control and protection panels.)
7- Work closely with engineering teams during the implementation of the project to
ensure the safety of the facility.

Part B :1- Whats the advantages? The advantages of being an engineer ( I think the
strengths of being an engineer )is that you can work in any sector or any industry and
anywhere they ask you to, for example in engineer departments you can only find
engineers working in its very difficult to someone who studied any other major to
work in engineering office. However, engineers can work in any other sectors like, in
finance, accounting or even HR or IT. Other than this, you can work in engineering
offices different than you have been studied for example I studies telecommunication
engineering I worked in aluminum industry. And now Im working in aviation sector
which is totally different than what I studied but the strengths of being an engineer
must come from that you can adduct and work in different environments and
different challenges.
2- How about the disadvantages? It is very difficult to me to talk about the
disadvantages but I would say maybe as you become an engineer you will work
always on improves almost like (black and white) that is what they called the
engineer they dont have the gray area so this is what they want they want the
improves the results
3-There is a shift time work for engineers? Yes, you might work in shifts and it
depends on the company and it depends on the department.
4-What skills and qualifications required for this job? Generally, lets talk
about an engineer in any job you have to be punctual and to be hardworking to
prove yourself to give them the first impression that you are capable. And, then when
you growing in the job some other skills required like communication skills, making
decisions, solving problems which are the most important skill, interactive with people
and dealing with conflicts and may other skills.

5-What is the challenge and the difficulty of this job? You have to meet some
deadlines, you will work under pressure and solve other people problems because
when you will be an engineer you might be the support to others to solve their
problems so you should know and deal with costumers.
6- How did you get this job? I applied in the careers fair when I was in emirates
aluminum maybe I was lucky but here I applied throw HR and get job after the
interviews all requirements.
7-Do you advise us to be in this career? Yes, because as I mentioned before
you can work in any sector or department.
8-Do you recommend this job for womens? There are areas where females
can work but sometimes it can be the harsh environment for womens that is not
advisable. Its not suitable maybe for females.
9-Have you faced any difficulty to get this job? Yes of course, you will face
some difficulty, some days will be easy going and some days will be challenging and
sometimes you may be not sure of the some of the requests and you have to be up to
the speed and you have to know how to communicate with all the people to get this
job done.
10-Do you face any pressures in work? Yes, there will be pressure for example
when you will work in multinational companies like this company in electric people
are coming all over the world with different backgrounds and different cultures so
there will be a pressure and you should know how to deal with each and every one.

11- What do you think is more important (high GPA) or hard working and
experience? For me, it is hard working and experience, GPA is good as a start
because when apply for a job in HR sometimes they mostly look for higher GPA they
target these people first but believe me if you are not good in the interviews they will
not higher you even if your GPA is 4 . Its very important to have communication
skills

12-Do you prefer working in private companies or government? And

why? There are many different between private companies and government and it
depend how you deal with your work and how you develop yourself.

13-Which language is more important here? Arabic? English? Other?

English, because we deal and communicate with all nationalities.
14-do you offer a scholarship for engineering students? In emirates aluminum
yes they do for the scholarships and now its by the emirates global aluminum Emal
and Dubal company here Im not sure but I think they have scholarship, and in
emirates aluminum they give for engineering only not for any majors.
15-is this function provides health insurance? Here they provide and emirates
aluminum provide and now as you more seen all the government sector have
insurance.

Part C :-Alya Mohamed Alzarooni H00294759

In my assignment, I started by writing the interview questions with my group about

our major which is engineering and then I personally went to Dubai Airport Free Zone
to interview an engineer and I met him and I asked him half of the 15 question and he
gave me enough information also he answered the questions clearly and of course
the interview has been recorded. After that, I listened to the interview a serval time
and I wrote the answers to the questions while Im listening to the voice note.
Actually, I have learned a lot from this experience, for instance, I realized that as an
engineer we should know how to deal with problems and pressure in the job after we
graduate. Moreover, its very important to have communication skills and to do well
in interviews rather than just high GPA.
In addition to this, I realized that I am interested in the practical application of this
research, such as social work and interviewing a person more than performing the
actual research.
I discovered that as female I may face difficulty in my job and it can be a harsh
environment for womens which is surprised me a little bit. On the other hand, there
are many advantages and strengths of being an engineer which I find it interesting for
example, we can work in any sector and department.
In fact, there are some skills which I think that I should develop to able to work there
like, Work under pressure, solve others problems and deal with costumers. Although, I
can develop those skills by manage my time and be patient. Also, I can cope with
the nature of the work.

What I do
I am a member of a team of Sara, Alia and Hamda. My role in the team is
coordination the date with the engineer to conduct the interview, and I went to
interview the engineer with Alia, we asked him 15 questions and recorded his voice to
be our answers accurate. Sara and I wrote five duties, the body of general
description of the role and responsibilities and the conclusion. We all wrote the
questions and we did the introduction of general description of the role and
responsibilities together.
Reflection
The research is about how will be the nature of our work after graduation, and what
are the requirements and the skills required for the job. In this project I learned how to
work with my group in a teamwork, it help us to speed up the completion of the tasks

required very quickly in the best possible way, reach to the best idea and easier, learn
how to deal with others and be tactful with them and shorten the distances and
saves time and effort.
We did interview with the engineer, he studied the same specialty, he told us that
there are many skills required, skills required to become an engineer capable of
working hard, always look for knowledge and evolution, solves problems and helps
others and high precision required for the performance of functions and designs in
the best way. To develop this skills we need to self-development through practice
and achieve success, self-confidence by transform negative thoughts into positive
thoughts, contact with dealers and people to be able to communicate with people
of different temperament and traits, able to use technology and learn what's new
and development and finally planning, organization and look to the future has major
role in the success of the person in his life and work.
To sum up, I was surprised that they prefer hard working and experience than high
GPA, because the person who passed the experience of previous work knows how
things are going and how to do the work required of the person with strong
experiences. The interesting thing that engineer can work in any sector and industry,
because in everything requires engineering foundation engineering are the same all
engineering disciplines, so engineer can work in different work for which studied.

In this research, when the teacher explain this work has been do groups work and
chosen the girls and we four, than we sit together and read the email that Ms sent it
carefully and picked one of job to do research about it, we start to write the
questions. After that my friends found how is important and will give as the good
information in this job to do the interview with him, they go and did the interview also
they record it and send it in our group in the WhatsApp. I listened it and write the
some of answers of the questions. However in the two weeks holiday I go to Mirdiff
City Centre meet them in Starbucks and done several of part A, we searching about
engineer job and get more information. Finally each of one do her part C.
I was astioshed from that beging as engineer doesnt mean that you have work to
engineer. In other word, the engineer can has many career for administration job. I
also learned I must have many skills for example solving problem and accounting, I
realized that I have to develop my skills through work placement expertise. More over
communication is very important in any future careers which can be acuired from my
social skills within the community in any careers. In the end doing this research in
careers my ability in beging as engineer, for example I must have bachelor degree in
engineering and I hope fully after three years I will have it. Furthermore, having
expertise and strong demanded skills are required more than having only high GPA.

I am a member of a team of four students; we worked with each other for research
about our specialty. We set together to make a brainstorming in what we are
interested to know about engineering, we wrote about 15 question as a group. Also, I
participated in writing the introduction, after that I wrote the five duties that engineer
should do, and Im the one who completed part A, the organizing was my role also.
In this research, we were supposed to work in a group, and this is an interesting
thing that leads to make everything easy and shortcuts the time, because everyone
in the group will do a part, and we as engineers we should learn to work in groups.
Moreover, I learned that reaching the final stage of engineering needs efforts, but I
have to remember that a high GPA is not the only stair that will let me reach to the
job, but the experience is more important. Furthermore, critical thinking and the ability
to solve any problem should be one of my skills. Developing myself should start now
before graduation. I need to work on communication; Im a very shy person, but an
engineer should be good in communication because there are many presentations
to do. And I have to start working in summer to have a good experience in the field.
Finally, Im interesting in studying engineering thats because the working domain is
open, its not necessary to work in the same field of what I study in collage, for
example, Im electrical engineer I can work in the field related to electronic.
Engineering is the most interesting major, and now all countries need engineers to
help in development.
