WHAT IS A RETROUVAILLE
PROGRAM?

When I walked down the aisle to become
Rufino's bride we were full of hopes and
promises. Now our marriage was sinking
like a boat with holes in it. This was hard for
me because I thought our marriage would
be different.
We had four children. Our boat was
being weighed down by work, bills, health
issues, and financial difficulties. I put my
husband last on my priority list and our
marriage began to suffer.
It seemed everything was an argument.
Our boats were no longer on the same
course. I wanted our marriage to get back on
course. But I had doubts about attending the
Retrouvaille program. I kept replaying in
my mind all the reasons I should not go.
Finally, we did attend the Retrouvaille
weekend and Post Sessions. It changed our
lives. Our children were the first to notice a
difference in us. Then other family
members started to see the love that was
there the day I became his bride. There is no
magic wand to fix anything in life including
marriages. But, this program gave us the
life preserver our marriage needed.
Thank you for teaching us the tools we
needed to keep our family together.

The Retrouvaille Program consists of a

weekend experience combined with postweekend sessions. The program provides
the tools to help put your marriage in order
again. The main emphasis is on
communication between husband and wife.
The program offers you the opportunity to
rediscover each other and examine your
lives together in a new and positive way.
THE PROGRAM IS NOT ...
... a retreat or a sensitivity group. There are
no group dynamics or group discussions on
the weekend. This is not a time for hurting;
it is a time for healing.
WHO WILL BENEFIT?
Couples with troubled marriages, including
separated or divorced couples, open to
working on their marriages will benefit.

The team presents a technique of communication that enables you to take a fresh look
at most areas of your relationship. After
each presentation, you have time in the
privacy of your room to reflect on the
previous topic.
The post-weekend phase is as crucial to
healing as the initial weekend experience.
During the post sessions, the techniques
introduced during the weekend are further
developed and combined with additional
tools to explore other areas of the marriage
relationship.
WHEN?
The weekend phase begins Friday evening
and closes with Mass or CMD devotional
service early Sunday evening.
WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM COST?
No couple is ever denied the chance to heal
and renew their marriage due to a lack of
funds. Each couple is asked to make an
anonymous donation to help cover the cost
of the entire program.
COUPLE RESPONSES

IS THE PROGRAM FAITH BASED?

The program is Catholic in origin. Couples
of all faiths and those of no particular faith
tradition are welcome. CMD weekends
may also be available in some areas.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A
RETROUVAILLE PROGRAM?
During the weekend phase, a series of
presentations are given by a team of three
couples and a priest or three couples and a
minister and spouse for CMD weekends.
