It is with great anticipation that I present my resume and references to you for a position as an Elementary (K-8) Teacher with the School District. In addition to receiving a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, I will also receive a bachelors degree in K-12 Special Education and I will be taking subject specific praxis exams for Middle School Education this summer; I am already registered to take the Science section. As an educator, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of students including those afflicted with Autism, Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, Learning disabilities, English Language Learners, and behavioral challenges. I have also worked with students in a variety of different grades including kindergarten, second grade, fourth grade, middle school (5-8), and very soon, high school. From this experience, I have been able to remain sensitive to and provide support to students unique capabilities and collaborate with other teachers to encourage and cultivate a supportive learning environment where each individual student is able to learn and be successful. Providing assistance to students has helped me assess their needs, goals, and struggles. After each evaluation, I adapt my methods to accommodate multiple intelligences and learning styles to ensure each student will comprehend and retain the information in the manner that suits him or her best. Furthermore, with my professional training and experiences I have had the opportunity to develop engaging educational games and other hands-on activities that encourage participation and socialization with peers. These are just a few of my talents as a classroom teacher. One of my greatest strengths as a classroom teacher is my ability to maintain a well-disciplined learning environment, with minimal interruptions and maximum productivity. This has been achieved by pulling misbehaving students aside to talk to them about their behavior, reinforcing positive behavior, and implementing a reward system. In addition, I have developed an excellent, trusting rapport with my students to make sure they feel comfortable and safe in my classroom. As a highly compassionate and committed educator with a strong passion for life-long learning, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my experience and skills would benefit your program. Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
