Safety
Jule drivers complete an average of 100
hours of training before they transport
passengers on their own. All drivers
receive 4 hours of annual ride-a-long
training to refresh and reinforce safe
driving habits. Ongoing training has led
to a reduced number of at-fault
accidents. Jule drivers are driving more
miles with fewer accidents.

Routes & Ridership

Dubuque Community Schools

Dubuque Community School District and Holy
Family Catholic School students can ride The Jule
to and from school and other activities free of
charge. All K-12 students ride for free, but high
school students must show their school ID to
board. The Jule provides public transportation to
students on the regularly scheduled routes. 92%
of schools are within a 5 minute walk from a bus
stop.

Bus Storage
Design and build a new Bus
Storage Facility. The facility
will be built on a city-owned
Superfund site.

MiniBus is a door to door service offered by The Jule for qualifying

individuals who are unable to use the Jule's fixed-route bus service due to
a disability. An application process is required to ensure that the service
is reserved for those with severe
disabilities.
Seniors over 65 are eligible for
MiniBus service but also have the
option to travel with our partner
DuRide.
DuRide is a nonprofit volunteer
driver program receiving financial
support from the City of Dubuque.

Facilities

Intermodal Transportation Center >> 950 Elm Street <<

The Intermodal Transportation Center is designed
to improve access to The Jule and other
transportation services in Dubuque. The
Intermodal and downtown transfer features public
restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating, bike
parking, ticket windows, and connections to
Trailways and out-of-town bus services.

The Nightider provides fixed-route and MiniBus weekend service from 6:00
p.m.-2:40 a.m. during the school year and 11:00 p.m. in the summer. The
nightrider routes are open to the public at the standard fare and serve many
retail and restaurant employees.
Loras College, Clarke University, and the University of Dubuque provide
partial funding for this route, allowing college/university students free
access to all Jule Transit routes by showing their school ID. College student
ridership has increased over the past 3 years.
