It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation to express my utmost
support for Rachel Monica, who is applying for a teaching position in your school district.
Rachel completed her teaching internship in my third grade classroom at Donley Elementary
during the 2015-2016 school year. She volunteered to start working alongside of me two weeks
before she was required to and worked many hours before some of our colleagues and her fellow
interns even started working. Her commitment to continually go above and beyond for the
students at our school never waivered.
Rachel is a very dedicated and organized teacher. During her internship, she was
responsible for developing, planning, and teaching many different curricular units in each of the
five subject areas. In order to meet the needs of all of her students, Rachel carefully planned
lessons that were student-centered and differentiated to meet her students diverse learning styles
and individual interests. Ms. Monica also managed behavior plans for six different students and
continually communicated with students families to ensure academic, emotional, and behavioral
success. She made it her personal mission to build a rapport with each student in our class and to
interact with every student in a positive manner each day.
Ms. Monica was an important part of our classroom and school community. Rachel
attended almost every after school activity and even volunteered to help our parent group at
some of these functions. As part of our third grade team, she was an integral part of our Good
Fit time, teaching Tier II reading interventions to targeted, homogenous groups of students. In
response to the needs of the students in her classroom, Ms. Monica redesigned her classroom
into a more flexible and choice-based learning environment. She spent countless hours
researching, teaching lessons, soliciting student input, and gathering data on student engagement
to create a learning space that has been emulated and admired by many people throughout our
district.
Rachel Monica is an excellent candidate for any open teaching position in your district.
She is dedicated to her students and school, and will make an excellent addition to your school
district. I strongly recommend Ms. Rachel Monica, and wish there was an open position on our
grade level team so we could continue teaching and working together.
