Allergic sensitization is important diagnosing and treating allergic diseases.

At least 10%
of the general population and more than 50% with respiratory allergies have multiple
sensitization. Multiple sensitization strictly means sensitization to two or more allergy. It
develops over time and may cause respiratory allergies making it relevant in treatment
decisions (Azpeitia et al., 2014) Based on the components found on the three plants,
profilin is a common panallergen. (Hed, 2009) With this, subjects allergic to Coconut are
found to be allergic to Mango and Rice as well.
Since Coconut and Rice are more prevalent in Manila than mango, exposure to Coconut
and Rice builds immunity to allergic subjects. In turn, mango showed the highest
reactivity among the three.
