Reflection:
In this lesson plan I did writing lesson about comparison essay about the
school and college and I includes many activities in different stages. Also, I
used different strategies in this lesson so, in this reflection I will write about
three stages, activities, strategies and how I taught the lesson plan.
In the first stage, I started the lesson by giving the students paper to write their favorite memory
had before in school or college. I did this activity to engage the students and help the students to
get clue about our topic. After that, when the students finished I asked them what did they wrote
and some other questions. Asking students questions related to the lesson help the student to
activate their scheme. Also, I showed them pictures one of school and on of college. Then I
asked them some questions about the pictures. I think asking questions is the best activity to do it
to them. That will develop their comprehension, interacting with lesson and the process of
building and understanding. Next, I divided the class into 2 groups, one group will talk about the
similarities and the other group will talk about the differences. I led the similarities group
discuss their points together and the differences groups as well. Then they wrote their ideas in the
poster and post it on the wall. I did this activity because that, will help the students to remember
their ides when they will start to read and organize their writing.
In the second stage, I introduced the comparison essay process and gave
them examples of the linking words and how to use it such as (on the other
hand and however). This linkers very important in their writing because that
will develop their writing. Then, I gave the students the useful phrases that
they can use to write the similarities such as ( also, and , in addition and

too), and the phrases to write the differences. After that, I started writing the
introduction with the students. According to (J.Tierney & Readence, 2005) the
modeling process is belief that if teacher describe their own thoughts about the text, the students
will realize how and when to do the same. Molding helps the students to respond to the lesson
and understand the activities.
The last activity is this stage, I led the students to complete write the body
and the conclusion .
In the last stage presentation and reflection, I led each group check the other
group work based on the comparison essay process. I think monitoring in very
important to check their students understanding the steps of writing. Also,
check their answers, let the students to stimulate their knowledge and give
students a sense of achievement. lastly, I gave the students a homework to
write an comparison essay.

To sum up, is important to recognize our lesson plan because it is important in teaching and help
the teacher to follow the right steps and do not lose her time to remember what is the next
activity. Also, Using strategies in writing lesson can affect students in reading, speaking and
knowledge. So, the teacher can use strategies in different ways because that help the students to
participate and interaction in writing class.
