Abortion Clinics Shutting Down

Across the country more and more abortion clinics have been shutting down due to Pro-Life law
makers. In some states there isnt access to even one clinic. Women are forced to cross state lines
to find a clinic. If women can no longer have an abortion some will either have an abortion
illegally, or the rest will be forced to have the child. The question is without enough abortion
clinics open for women seeking an abortion, and will most likely keep the baby because they
have no other choice what will the circumstances does it leave both the mother and fetus in? Im
sure there are many reasons why people are Pro-Choice. Speaking not only for myself as ProChoice, but for many others why abortion should remain and continue to be legal.
Women seeking abortion dont go through this surgery for no good reason. There are many
reasons why women go through this procedure. Women that have an abortion are either not
ready, to young, financially unstable, rapped, or have issues with boyfriend or family. The main
reason young adults have an abortion is because having a child at such a young age can possibly
set back their future. Teenagers or younger that get pregnant are sometimes not medically ready
to have a child in their body for nine months or give birth. Teens are barely growing into their
bodies to have mature bodies as a women. Going through birth is far more dangerous than
having an abortion. Almost 95% of parents are involved in their young adults business. Some
women make their decision based on family and friends, it can be from religious and cultural
views. (1). People have to think of the bigger picture, the life both of them will have, the
problems within the family, and any other possible situation. It is not an easy thing to go through,
its not as simple as people think it is. The worst part is people dont understand the traumatic
stress these women go through after having an abortion. Women dont want to intentionally kill
an innocent child. Pro-Choice means having the choice the right to do what you
want with your own body. The choice to terminate if one were to get
pregnant. No one is for abortion to kill a child because we all know
exactly what the procedure is. Although the main concern is
having the choice to carry a child or choosing not to be a mother.
Researchers stated that most women who follow through with an
abortion end up having post-traumatic stress disorder. Abortion affects almost 3,330 women each
day after having an abortion. This can happen within days, weeks, months and even years after
having the procedure (2). Some common symptoms include lack of sleep, loss of appetite,
reduced motivation, alcohol and drug abuse, and even thoughts of suicide. (3) It is not an easy
thing to go through as said before. Women go through sadness of killing their own kid, but
people cannot get into ones business and tell them what they can or cant do. From personal
experience, not my own but from a personal experience within the family, my grandmother had
an abortion at a young age. Ive asked her about her abortion and she tells me every day of her
life shes regretted it. She would have had a baby boy and he would have been 50 years old
today. She wonders everyday how it would have been to have a son to be there for her whenever
she needed him. I asked her why she did it. Her response all the time is I wasnt ready, your
grandpa didnt want a child and I was dependent on him I quit school and all I had was my job,

and no help from anyone not even my own mom, so I knew

cant take care of a
child? Why bring a child into this world with these
circumstances? Yes there are other options like adoption.
However thinking for years why your parents never wanted
you is the worst feeling anyone could ever make a child go
through.
There are so many reasons why women have an abortion
and women are not just having abortions to have them
because they think it is fun and games. Women know the
consequence of being sexually active, just like any other
human being know the risks of drugs and alcohol. However
in this case, it is there right as a women, the choice to decide
whether she wants to keep the baby or abort.
