TAG Mystery Lesson Reflection
Even though my original mystery lesson that I created was called Find
Cecil!, I ended up creating and teaching another mystery lesson that was
pertinent to the current Social Studies standards The Roaring 20s and
aviation. Per our conversation in class last Tuesday, here is my reflection and
assessment w/samples on the lesson I ended up teaching about Amelia
Earhart.
Not only did I love teaching the Amelia Earhart mystery lesson, my students
loved it too! They were super engaged the whole time! They were inquisitive,
eager to learn more, and collaborating well with others! One of the cool
things that I decided to do was to gather the evidence and clues presented
through the resources rather than me present them to the students up front.
I think this helped students really put on their detective hats and analyze all
the different clues. Overall I really recommend this strategy especially if
you can tie it into your curriculum.
