Focus question

If biodiesel can mitigate global warming, is the cheapest

alternative, and can be manufactured in our own nation
then why are we not completely switching over to it?

What is biodiesel ?
A renewable and clean-burning alternative to diesel
made through a chemical process that converts
vegetable oils/greases and animal fats into fatty acid
methyl esters (FAME).

How is biodiesel manufactured ?

Transesterification: a reaction between
an ester of one alcohol and a second
alcohol to form an ester of the second
alcohol and an alcohol from the original
ester
Esterification: a compound produced by
the reaction between an acid and an
alcohol with the elimination of a
molecule of water
Glycerin: colorless, odorless, syrupy
liquid, obtained from natural fats and
oils; solvent (acts).
