Arizona Early Learning Standards


The guiding principle beginning at birth, a child forms relationships
with adults who will guide their learning and development. Especially
during the earliest years of a child's life from birth to age 3, a child's
growth and development is shaped within the context of those
relationships. Positive relationships are essential for the development
of personal responsibility, capacity for self-regulation, for constructive
interactions with others, and for fostering academic functioning and
mastery. Sensitive, and responsive interactions help children develop a
secure, positive sense of self and encourage them to respect and
cooperate with others. Inclusive practices That early language and
literacy development begins at birth and is closely linked to a childs
earliest

experiences

with

people,

sounds,

facial

expressions,

movement, music, books, oral and written stories. Language and


literacy development begins for a child during the first months of life
by listening to the sounds of words being spoken by the people around
them. Oral language development is a foundation for reading, writing,
and spelling. The Arizona Early Learning Standards are A link between
early learning expectations and school readiness .A framework that

links

content

and

curriculum,

professional

development

and

assessment tools to ensure age-appropriate activities, goals and


performance outcomes for three to five-year old children. The Arizona
Early Learning Standards are not. Prepared for use as a curriculum, use
as a checklist .Intended for use as an assessment tool .Meant to stifle
the creativity of caregivers or teachers .

The Standard is an agreed upon framework of skills that young


children need to experience in order to develop a foundation for higher
levels of learning. The concept one topic or sub-skill of the Element.
The example of age 3-5 I used .The Body bingo game the curriculum
area is reading. Its improve visual discrimination, auditory memory
and matching skills .This game development the strengthen selfidentity to foster familiarity with different in skin color. Homemade
game boards with nine squares each containing cutout magazine
picture of facial features and body parts .include picture of eyes with
glasses ears with hearing aid and other parts that reflect diversity
race ,age and ability .introduce the concept of this game that required
the children to cover of the body part that is call out .

Motor development also involves how well childrens muscles work.


This is referred to as muscle tone. Children need a balanced muscle

tone in order to develop their muscles and use them with ease when
standing, sitting, rolling, walking, running, swimming and all other
postures and actions. Motor development also involves the childs
vestibular and proprioceptive systems. Both of these are part of the
childs sensory system . Example of metro development bubbles are
fun. First draw bubbles of all sizes on a piece of paper big ones, little
ones, green ones, and purple ones. Then blow some real bubbles.

Early childhood mental health can be considered to be


synonymous with healthy social and emotional development. It also
refers to the mental health difficulties and disorders experienced by
very young children. We can think of the response to infant and early
childhood mental health needs as existing along a continuum of
promotion, prevention, and treatment services. Many of the health and
safety practices promoted during the infant and toddler years can be
viewed as a set of healthy habits that exist on a continuum of healthy
habits for a lifetime. Our success in aiding parents in instilling these
early healthy habits in infants and toddlers, and promoting the practice
of the adult versions of the habits will be reflected in the lifetime
wellbeing of the infants, toddlers and families we serve.

Keeping children safe is the responsibility of the entire community


around them, from making sure they are transported safely to

preventing child abuse and neglect. This section provides links and
resources that promote the safety of all Washington's kids. Everybody
in the school has a role to play in ensuring good safety, health and
welfare within the school this includes teachers, special needs
assistants, students, visitors and contractors. Security and emergency
preparedness measures should be balanced with strong violence
prevention and intervention programs. Along with a well-disciplined
and positive school climate, these elements of a comprehensive safe
schools approach can play critical roles in making schools safe.

They help set clear and consistent expectations for students,


parents, and build the childs knowledge and skills; and help set high
goals for all students. Of course, high standards are not the only thing
needed for our childrens success. But standards provide an important
first step a clear roadmap for learning for teachers, parents, and
students. Having clearly defined goals helps families and teachers
work together to ensure that students succeed. Standards help parents
and teachers know when students need extra assistance or when they
need to be challenged even more. A weekly lesson plan is planned,
posted, and includes the following opportunities for each child to .
Lesson plan activities that are not implemented and the substituted
activity needs to be identified on the lesson plan.
