Grade 2s, do you want to know how the story of our island

adventure ends? Great! You are responsible for telling the

adventure! Under your desk, you will find a piece of paper.
Pull it out and read it silently to yourself. When I call your
number, it is your turn to read your part of the story. Are
you ready?
1) Your group worked very hard on a boat!
2) You used the best wood you could find!
3) You shaped it into a long, deep boat. It is stable and can
carry a heavy load!
4) You are finally ready to launch!
5) You and your group slowly push the boat out into the
water.
6) It floats wonderfully!
7) Everyone gets in the boat and paddles away from the
beach.
8) The boat glides so smoothly through the water!
Suddenly, you hear an odd sound!

9) A helicopter!!!
10 Everyone turns around and sure enough, there is a
helicopter coming towards the island!
11) Nobody knows what to say!
12) Finally, you turn the boat around and paddle towards
the beach again!
13) The helicopter lands on the beach.
14) Two nice rescuers greet you and tell you a boat is on
the way!
15) There is room for four people on the helicopter, so you
and your group jump on board.
16) The rest of the group waits for the boat.
17) As the helicopter takes off, you see the boat coming.
18) It is a large boat made of steel! It moves through the
water so fast!

19) You are amazed it does not sink in the water.

20) But after everything you learned about boats, you know
why it floats!
21) As you lift higher in the sky, you look back at the island
one last time!
22) You cant believe you lived on that island for over three
weeks!
23) Then you sit back in your chair and fall asleep
24) Dreaming of boats.
