whole numbers and use multiplication and divisions
within 100 confidently. Students will be able to
incorporate the multiplication and division skills they
learn in their everyday life. They will also learn how to
make a movie, using moviemaker with a group of
students, in order to explain how they can use the main
points of the lesson plan in day-to-day activities.
Michigan Common Core State Standards for Mathematics:
Kindergarten (Operations and Algebraic Thinking)
1. Interpret products of whole numbers.
2. Interpret whole- number quotients of whole
numbers.
3. Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve
word problems in situations involving equal groups,
arrays, and measurements quantities.
4. Determine the unknown whole number in a
multiplication or division equation relating three
whole numbers.

Brainstorm and negotiate successfully among the

group.

Students will use an approved link to a YouTube video

that explains how to use moviemaker and the teacher
will provide a link to an instructional website as well. (
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/makea-movie-in-four-simple-steps) Teacher will also create a
blog for students to be able to communicate and
brainstorm with her/him and each other. The directions
and rubric will also be posted in the blog for any child
who lost the original sheet. Students will also use Quizard
Lite to improve in their multiplication and division skills at
home.
Notebooks for brainstorming.
iPhone or iPad in order to access the apps.
Computers in order to access the blog and
YouTube.

Flash Drive
1. Teacher will begin by evaluating the students
current knowledge of multiplication and division of
whole numbers by creating an entertaining game
for the class to participate.
2. Teacher will then proceed to teach the learning
objectives and in the end of every week he or she
will present the students with a survey about what
they understood and what they did not.
3. Teacher will use the survey as a guide in order to
focus on any lacking areas he or she might have
missed or did not focus as much in.
4. Teacher will then introduce the group project and
the requirements needed for it.
5. The video needs to incorporate how students could
use multiplication, division and the skills theyve
learned in their daily lives.
6. Teacher will then split the students in groups
between 3 and 4 students.
7. Teacher will then explain how to use the Internet
efficiently and safely.
8. Teacher will then provide a link in order to help the
children learn how to make a video using movie
maker, the video will also be shown in class simply
in case any students may have any inquires.
9. The students will then be assigned of their roles in

Quizard Lite, which allows the teacher to write a set
of twenty flash cards online so students could
access the notecards when at home, and continue
to practice their skills.

in the project. Each
has turned in their
own contribution to
the assignment.(Ex:
Brainstorming ideas,
thoughts, notes,
outlines.)
3 Points
Students followed
the tutorial the
teacher provided
and were capable of
producing an
excellent video
confidently with
visual arts and a
well thought out
sequence.
3 Points
Students have given
exemplary examples
about multiplication
and division in
everyday situations.
(Ex: Dividing a
dozen cupcakes at a
party with 6 friends,
figuring out how
many friends to

need, etc.) Students
have truly grasped
the objectives of the
lesson.
