College the silent
What is the value of a college degree? This simple question is the ultimate deciding factor
to those who will either enroll into a university or not to enroll. Many ask this question hoping to
receive and answer saying the value will equal a value in dollars and cents. The true value can
not be answered with just an estimated dollar amount other import factors apply to the end result.

It is no secret the world we live in today is not the same as it was 30 years ago. With
progress like this we among each need to be prepared to ensure our ability to compete in our
daily lives. According to the New York Times, a college degree has increased in value because
newly developed international economy. The Times article continues with the statistics of the pay
gap between people with and without college degrees. A worker with 4-year degrees made 98%
more money per hour then a worker with a degree. There seems to be a trend of less and less
Americans completing university degrees because of this there is continue increasing in the
national pay gap. In this article we hear the answer we want to hear, that is that degree holding
american earn more money making the value of a college degree worth it .

The author of this article is Piyush Mangukiya he has a Computer Engineering degree
from Virginia Commonwealth University, he is the founder of EducareLab. His company
specializes in developing apps to help school kids in grad k-12 and also college students He has
relative experience with the schooling system and has learnd a thing or two he begins with the
issue of studen debt. Student Loan debt is the second large debatable reason for the question is

college worth it. in this asticle by Huffington post they averaged out $30,000 of debt for the
Class of 2013. A large number like this can clearly mark a huge point to this not considering
going to college. We should be mindful that this debt can be easily paid off once the student gets
employed and use his/ her degree to its maximum potential. The counter-argument to this is,
student with degrees are not guaranteed jobs after graduation. This is very true and will not be
overlooked, after graduation student usually begin in full force to acquire a job. In the article it
continues listing benefits that come with a high paying job. For example, a higher paid work is
more likely to live with good health because of the persons opportunity to have health insurance
and accessibility to health services(Mangukiya). Those with bachelor's degree tend to be more
satisfied with their jobs in general, based on several different criteria; 53% of people with a
bachelor's degree report they are "very satisfied" with their current jobs, compared to 37% of
people with a high school diploma, says Mangukiya. Apart from money, satisfaction in a
workplace is key to a successful career. A major point to make when those with college degrees
are proud of the work they do and how they do it.
So far there seems to be absolute no reason why not to enroll in a university and pursue a
2-year, 4-year however many years degrees. With so many benefits and opinion on how
schooling can only help and not harm. We get to see the flip side of the argument in the words of
