Planned Lesson Activities

Name and Purpose of Lesson
Should be a creative title for you and the students
to associate with the activity. Think of the purpose
as the mini-rationale for what you are trying to
accomplish through this lesson.
Approx. Time and Materials/Procedures
How long do you expect the activity to last and
what materials will you need? What do you need to
collect, prepare, reserve, set-up, etc. ahead of
time?

Wrapping up saving and investing- This lesson helps students

the exact same questions from the quiz, but with some of the
language changed around. The Kahoot will take about 20
minutes because after each answer I will talk to the students
about why that is the correct answer. Once we finish the
Kahoot I will give the students 10 more minutes to finish
looking over their notes and asking me questions. Then we will
take a 5 minutes break and come back and take the quiz. The
quiz will take about 20 minutes for the students to complete.
Once all the students are done and have turned in their
quizzes we will move on to the next unit of housing and
transportation. Since students will be tired form taking the quiz
the next activity will be pretty easy. I have previously matched
the students in the class up with a roommate that I believe
they would not normally pick for themselves. They will get
together with their roommate and start going over a roommate
agreement and figuring out what things would bother them in
a roommate and what things they would be willing to
compromise on.

After students have gone through the roommate agreement I

will ask each group if they found it easy to get along or if they
found that they have differences. I will ask if it was easy for
them to compromise or if they found it difficult.

I do not have any students that require modifications for their

advanced for a child, how will you modify it so that
they can be successful?
To extend: If the activity is too easy for a child,
how will you extend it to develop their emerging
skills?
Assessment/Pre-Post/On-going
How will you know if students met the learning
targets? Review each learning target and
determine the assessment that met that target.
Can the students answer your inquiry questions?

quizzes or extra time. During the time that students are

studying I will walk around the room and make sure none of my
students have any more questions.

The Kahoot and the post-assessment will help me to determine

how much my students have learned throughout the whole
unit.
The roommate agreement will help me determine if my
students are being truthfully honest about what they would be
willing to have in a roommate and what they might be trying to
just seem easy going about.

Post Lesson Reflection

1. To what extent were lesson objectives achieved? (Utilize
assessment data to justify your level of achievement)
The Kahoot and the post-assessment showed me that my students
were able to retain a good deal of information form the unit. Their test
scores were much improved since their pre-assessment.
2. What changes, omissions, or additions to the lesson would
you make if you were to teach again?
Next time I teach this I might try and do the Kahoot on the day before
so students have an idea of what the test will be like and they will be
able to go home and study. Having the Kahoot and the quiz in the
same day made it difficult to know if they really learned everything or
if they were just able to retain it for a short amount of time to
regurgitate the information. I tried to put as much time between the
Kahoot and the actual test.
3. What do you envision for the next lesson? (Continued practice,
reteach content, etc.)
The next lesson will continue on to talk about roommates and housing.
The students will work with their roommates to start looking for a
couple apartment options.
