Compare/Contrast Strategy Reflection

TAG Strategies Course

I think the students and I both enjoyed this lesson. By comparing and
contrasting the different ways in which African Americans fought for their civil
rights, we were able to talk about violent versus non-violent acts. They were also
able to better understand the vocabulary such as boycott and sit-in. Many of the
students didnt have prior knowledge on these events specifically (but they did
know Rosa Parks), so it was a great way to introduce them to these events in
American history. I think it was a successful strategy all around and not too difficult
to plan or implement.
