What We Did
We worked on istations.
Ashley seemed to enjoy
working and was
determined to finish her
work. Lacoria does not
like istation and finds it to
be an annoying task. She
struggled completing
place value questions.
The place value
questions on the program
are set up in a confusing
manner and I think this is
what caused her trouble
because when I asked
her what place value
stood for she was
correct. I could
understand her
frustration with the
program.
Today we continued to
work on istations. Lacoria
had a better attitude
because she recently
moved up a level. Ashley
had a mainly positive
attitude but was
frustrated when istation
talked though instructions
for five minutes that she
couldnt skip. Lacoria
was working on
identifying the written
form of number units and
Ashley was working on
adding fractions through
the use of 100s frames
and matching fractions to
pictures. Ashley has to
realize that and 2/4
represented the same

fraction but appeared

different in a picture.
Lacoria struggled a little
bit with identifying the
name form of units,
mainly because the
istation format. Together
we discussed the
difference
between1,000,000 and
100,000,000 and talked
about how we could tell
them apart.
Today we worked on
istations. Ashley moved
up another level in the
program. She worked on
placing fractions in the
correct order on a
number line. When given
two fractions she had to
determine which one was
greater than the other.
Ashley answered all of
her fraction problems
correctly and found them
to be easy. Lacoria
continued to work on
identifying the name form
of units. It was easier for
her to solve these
problems when the
numbers were written in
examined form. We
worked together and
broke down the larger
numbers that were more
difficult to name when all
together. Lacoria seems
to be gaining confidence
with these problems and
answered them correctly
when we slowed down
and focused on them.
We continued to work on
istations today. Both girls

had a positive attitude.

Lacoria had moved up a
level and was working on
rounding numbers to the
nearest hundred and
then to the nearest
thousandth. Before
deciding the nearest
hundredth or thousandth
she had to place the
number she was
rounding on a number
line, which helped her
visualize what she was
doing. She got all of
these problems correct.
Ashley was working with
fractions. She had to
compare fractions with
unlike denominators. In
order to do this she had
to first give the fractions
like denominators. At first
she choose random
denominators but then
we worked together to
figure out how to find like
denominators and after
that Ashley answered
every problem correctly.
Today we did not do
istations and instead
completed a Math Facts
assessment. Lacoria and
Ashley were both given
four minutes and fifty
seconds to complete
multiplication fact
problems ranging from
the 7s to the 12s tables.
Both girls finished their
assessments in about
four minutes. Ashley got
56 out of 57 problems
correct and Lacoria got
55 out of 57 problems

correct so I am confident
in their multiplication
abilities. When it was
time to go they wished
they could stay in
intervention longer so we
ended on a very positive
note!
