INTRODUCTION

Cats (Latin: Felis catus) are small living animals that are part of Class
Mammalia. They are usually described as furry and carnivorous mammals.
These kind of animals can be considered as pets because they provide
companionship even though they are sometimes lazy and hunt pests like
rats. They are friendly with humans and communicate to them through
meowing, purring or hissing.
Cats possessed strong and flexible bodies, quick reflexes, and sharp
teeth and retractable claws. They can also see in darkness just like dogs but
with poor color vision. They can sense danger and hear sounds or smell
things differently from the humans. However, cats anatomy is somewhat
similar to the other animals including human being.
The whole activity is approach through constructivism. It means that
the learning is active or an ongoing process that is based from personal
experiences. This kind of learning style will allow the students to learn from
their experiences but the interpretation of it will be different from one
another because every person is unique in their own way. Integrating it with
cat dissection, it will allow the students to discover, learn, and understand on
their own the whole anatomy of the said species through participating in the
dissection process. It will serve as an interactive learning since it does not
only because of the dissection application but also collaboration among
groupmates. If these two interactions combined, there will be numerous
ideas to gain knowledge for.
Students can develop laboratory skills and intrapersonal skills in this
activity by following properly the laboratory rules and communicating with
groupmates. They can also develop their personality skills such as
confidence and communication skills.
