EDUC 330 COURSE EXPECTATIONS CLASS RESULTS Tuesdays, Spring 2016


EXPECTATIONS FOR:
THE COURSE
Add to my E- Portfolio with information from this class/ Learn as much about Physical Education as possible /
Continue to work on creating lesson plans/ To help me discover new and creative ways to teach P.E./To help
me learn how to incorporate P.E. into my daily lessons/ To help me learn the importance of movement in the
classroom/ To be informative about various strategies that I can apply to my future classroom/ To adequately
cover each topic that is discussed or that may come up/ I expect this course to be valuable for me as a future
educator and for me to take a lot with me when I leave/ I expect this course to allow for creativity and overall
be a fun, meaningful learning experience/ I expect this course to include group collaborations and technology
involvement/ Enlightening material/ Changes my perspective regarding physical education/ A positive
experience/ Being able to obtain the skills and knowledge in becoming a P.E. teacher/ Learning new methods
to engage students in being interested in all things P.E. (physical, diet, health, etc.)/ Becoming familiar with the
standards required for P.E.-Health/ Learn how to incorporate physical education in the classroom/ To be more
knowledgeable about the importance of youth physical activity/ To learn things I can actually use in the field/
One expectation I have for this course is try out the lesson plans that have been made by passed students or
former students. I am more of a hands-on learner so this would be great!/ I also hope to learn ways to make
P.E fun and exciting/ I want to learn how to make P.E more educational rather than just playing games with no
outcomes or educational purposes/ I expect to learn the tips and tricks that will make me a better future
educator/ I hope to make new friends that are aspiring teachers/ To involve lessons about the benefits of
physical fitness/ To not be filled with busy work./ To gain ideas of how to teach while incorporate physical
activity/ Learn firsthand what is expected of a physical education teacher/ Find differences and similarities
between other subjects and P.E./ To learn more about physical education to teach/ To learn activities to use/
To create my own physical activities!/ To learn how to incorporate physical education with in the classroom as
a kinesthetic involvement along with other integrated subjects/ Understand the California Physical Education
Requirements for K-8 Students/ Learn how to apply the foundations of physical education across all age
groups/ To learn how to plan and structure an effective P.E. lesson/ To learn about creative games and
interactive methods that pike student interest and hit on the core standards/ To learn about nutrition and
how to help encourage students to make nutritious choices/ To learn about fitness and how to increase
physical well-being in myself and others/ become more educated about PE/ be engaged in class and have it be
fun/ apply hands on what we are being taught/ Receive an A or B/ Understand all course material/ Come to all
class days (except my wedding)/ To see how previous teaching physical education classes can help me with
this class/ To learn ways I can use in my career/ Find new ways to teach physical education/ Learn more about
how to have a healthy lifestyle that I can implement in future classroom settings/ Help me understand / Learn
something I would use in the outside world/ Help me being a great teacher/ Learn ways to implement more
physical education within the daily curriculum/ Learn more about physical education as a subject in general.
What does it entail?/ Get ideas for physical education activities/ How to integrate PE into other subjects/ To
have a better understanding of Physical Education/ Apply skills learned outside of the classroom

THE INSTRUCTOR
Grade fairly/ Teach the class information and strategies about Physical Education/ Be open to hear what
students have to say/ To incorporate hands on learning into the lessons which will encourage movement/ To
grade my assignments in a timely manner/ To be encouraging and give constructive criticism when necessary/
To be respectful of students and their opinions/ To be courteous of students time and respond to e-mails,
questions, and grading in a timely manner/ To engage students in this class to make things fun and
interesting/ I expect my instructor to set up a comfortable and friendly classroom environment where we can
learn from one another and integrate creativity/ I expect my instructor to respond to her students in a timely
manner such as emails and turn in work/ I expect my instructor to be organized online and thorough in her
instructions so I can understand the expectations she has of me for every assignment/ Passionate for the
material and teaching (already can tell )/ Challenge us/ Gives grades back in a timely manner/ Accessibility
through E-mail during the course of the semester/ Answers and help to any questions I may have during the

semester/ Assignments/Guidance/Work/Lecture/etc. that will lead me to become a great P.E. teacher/ Fair
grading/ To get both positive and constructive feedback/ A fair work load/ I expect that the instructor is willing
to be open to issues that may occur, which can may lateness on work, like family issues/ I expect that the
instructor is able to explain each assignment thoroughly with extra description if needed or asked for. I have
had past teachers that assigned homework but was not able to explain what they had in mind for us to do for
the assignment/ I expect that the teacher is able to make the class interesting and fun/ Receive feedback
within an appropriate time span/ Give clear instructions or guidelines for assignments/ Provide multiple
examples for the given topic/ Email me back ASAP!/ Being able to understand if we come up with the flu/
Giving us ideas for activities/ Fair in grading/ create an engaging environment while facilitating constructive
criticism/ Maintain a positive learning environment/ Create a challenge with in my learning experience at the
University of La Verne/ To provide me with feedback on how I am doing-How I can improve/ I expect the
instructor to be well versed in this subject/ I expect the instructor to clear any misunderstandings I, or other
classmates, may have regarding the academic material/ I expect the instructor to treat me with the respect of
an adult/ To share inside knowledge of the field that will help prepare the students for work, preferably
through stories of real life experiences/ To model effective physical education lessons so that I can see what I
need to someday do myself/ To help me learn how to create physical education lessons that address the
standards/ easy to reach/ answers questions and explains things thoroughly/ grades fairly/ To teach all
material clear/ Organized assignments/ Realistic expectations/ Not to assume that we have previous
experience in this area/ To be easily available if I have questions or concerns/ To create a safe environment
that I feel comfortable speaking up/ Some student driven classes, meaning group work that allows us to talk

of any questions that I may want to ask of them to help me succeed in this class more/ When doing group
work, equal effort, participation and care from all group members/ No unnecessary disturbances during the
teachers lecture that will delay class time/ I hope that this class is able to become a familiar community. By
this, I mean that I hope that we can be comfortable around each other and be able to help one another
without fear of judgement/ I hope that this class is able to work properly together in assignments like group
work/ I expect that this class is able to respect one each other/ Participate in class discussions/ Speak their
minds about their own personal opinions on topics/ Bring any outside resources they feel will help the class as
a whole/ To help if I get confused!/ To form study groups, if needed!/ I expect my classmates to challenge my
ideas so we may learn and grow from our interactions/ To not be disturbing during lectures/ To take this class
seriously/ To ask if they need help/ To help if they see someone who needs help/ To be welcoming!/ Support
and help each other develop as pre-service educators/ Encourage effort and positive feedback with in group
work/ Respect the classroom as it is a place for learning where we all are a part of a whole/ To be on-time and
prepared for the lesson so that we do not waste time/ To be respectful of myself and other students
knowledge and ability levels/ To be supportive and willing to collaborate on activities/ To come to class with a
positive attitude ready to learn/ Work together/ Get to know everyone/ Ask for help when needed

really make the most out of the class and take something from each class period that I will use as a future
educator/ Dont be so hard on myself over grades/marks/ NO PROCRASTATION/ Work hard for that A/ Do not
procrastinate in any of the assignments by giving myself enough time ahead before the due date to complete
it/ Take in everything from the instructor and her lectures, activities, assignments to become the best possible
teacher that I can possibly be in the future/ Pass the class with a high score/ Submit all my work with 110% of
my effort on time/ To grow as an individual/ To be better balanced physically, mentally, and spiritually/ To find
my teaching philosophy/ I expect that I will stay on track on all work/ I expect that I will carry my own weight
in group work/ I expect that I will be respectful to my other classmates ideas, cultures, and personal beliefs/
To find ways to incorporate P.E. into math lessons/ To turn my assignments on time/ Pay attention to the
teacher and other students during class/ To ask questions if I have a questions/ To challenge other students
ideas if I see otherwise/ To complete assignments in a timely manner/ Ask classmates and teacher for help
when needed/ To be on top of my A-game!/ Be creative with projects!/ Keep up with every single class/
Maintain a positive attitude while I learn how to develop further as a pre-service educator/ Be supportive to
my fellow colleagues to help them become stronger students and strive for their best/ Engage with all of the
students in the classroom and challenge their expiations of what other think/ To be prepared for class each
week, with assignments and readings done in advance/ To come with an open mind willing to learn/ To try
