Essential Question: Are males or females of a higher socio-economic class less likely to be
trafficked over males or females of a lower socio-economic class?
Working Thesis: Females of a lower socioeconomic class are more susceptible to be trafficked.
Refined Thesis: Females of a lower socioeconomic class are more prone to be trafficked over
males of a lower socioeconomic class, and males and females of a higher socio-economic class.

The book Global Report on Trafficking in Persons focuses on what human trafficking is,
where it is most common and who is most susceptible to be trafficked. This book also gives
many important statistics that have to do with human trafficking. The author gives a profile on
155 countries that have high rates of human trafficking. I chose the book Global Report on
Trafficking in Persons as a source because it contains a lot of information that has to do with my
subject and all of the research that was put into the book will provide me with a lot of facts and
statistics for my research paper.

The article Human Trafficking analyzes why human trafficking is more common in
poor countries. This article provides information that they obtained from past victims of
trafficking. Also, the author gave many facts about how and why people get involved with

human trafficking. The author explains that factors such as political, cultural, and legal create the
conditions for trafficking. I chose this source because it took people's real stories and turned
them into facts and percentages that provide me with a lot of information that has to do with my
subject.

The article The Victims talks about the victims of human trafficking. The article
provides information about the demographics that are mostly trafficked. The author explains that
56% of prostituted women were initially runaway youth and similar numbers have been
identified for male populations. Typically, runaway and homeless youth are most vulnerable to
trafficking. This article also has information on what the victims of trafficking may go through
while they are being trafficked. I chose this article because it provides a collection of information
that has to do with my thesis and has statistics that i will be able to utilize in my research paper.
