I come from a family four consisting of my mom, dad, little sister, and myself. I have to rescue dogs that I adore, Red, an American bulldog x red nose pit bull, and Raisin, a Pitbull x Boxer x Lab. I also enjoy hunting and fishing, I have been hunting since I was four years old and fishing since I was old enough to hole a fishing pole. My freshman year I decided that I wanted to graduate high school a year early be able to jumpstart my education in becoming a veterinarian. I will be attending the University of South Carolina Upstate to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine, after four years at Upstate I will be attending either the University of Georgia or North Carolina State University to obtain my veterinary degree. As state in my previous paragraph, I love hunting and the outdoors in general. At the beginning of the semester, I immediately knew that I wanted to do my topic on hunting. At the young age of three, I began to learn the importance of nature and wildlife. My father starting taking me hunting on our family hunting club in McCellanville, SC. I have always had a passion for animals and wildlife and hunting only magnified that passion. I shot my first deer when I was seven, a doe. I will never forget the feeling of knowing that I was providing food for my family by harvesting such a magnificent animal. Throughout the years growing up, the woods, and hunting have been my escape from life in moments that I desperately need a reprieve. Over all the Senior Exploration process has been one of the highlights of my high school career. This experience has been very eye opening and stressful at the same time. I enjoyed learning more information about my passion but also experienced the frustration of running into dead ends and spending time of useless research. I also enjoyed talking to other people who enjoy hunting as much as I do. My senior exploration has truly been a good experience that has given me even more appreciation for hunting and wildlife conservation. I would like to thank you judges for willingly giving up your time to listen to my presentation when there are probably many other things youd rather be doing. I hope you enjoy my presentation and hearing my ramble about something that is so important to me. Sincerely,
