IPads Teaching Students?
Teachers have always been required for students to learn, to be able to interact with them
and to question anything they needed assistance with, but technology has changed that need.
Before the internet or Google, for example, students needed to go out to a library or to personally
go up to their teacher for any questions, but students do not need the same resources. Teachers
have now noticed the changes in the classrooms and how they are incorporating technology since
technology advancement has been so quick and has changed they way anyone can get their hands
on any information. The generation that has been born with the internet demand the association
of technology in the learning process. As the article Use of Technology in Classroom- Students
Demand It by Karehka Ramey explains why students are more comfortable with the use of
technology, because even outside of class they are are always using their smartphones, tablets,
and laptops. But Some students are not comfortable with total technology and being taught solely
by a screen they require some more help and more interaction with the instructor. Karenhka
Ramey in the article Use of Technology In The Classroom and Its Benefits reveals the
possibility of the collaboration between technology and teaching, being able to use the two to
better the teaching process. Every student and teacher have their own perspective on technology

incorporation within the classroom, technology is either motivating learning for students or
taking teachers jobs and distracting students.
Of course, instructors are going to be frustrated or confused with the transition or even
fear the transition to technological ran classroom, their job is being taken maybe not all at once
but slowly but surely teachers will not be needed as they are now. The Destruction of the K-12
Teacher by Godsey elaborates on this idea of teachers being demoted to from respected
instructors to facilitators, the idea that teachers will no longer be able to teach unless they are
super teachers. An instructor that is helping with everything will not be necessary for twenty
years according to Godsey, but rather teachers will be just techs, but some say that this may
change even earlier maybe much sooner. The idea that classrooms will consist of screens that
will be placed in front of a class and one Tech or facilitator to make sure that the equipment
is working and the students behave changes the entire job description for teachers(Godsey).
This change will then result in many teachers loss of their job and even a drop in teachers pay. A
few teachers that are ok with the change are accepting the collaboration are using technology to
their advantage, Teachers like me are uploading onto the web tens of thousands of lesson plans
and videos that are then being consolidated and curated by various organizations (Godsey). The
author reveals the problem that teachers know and are aware of but yet do not do anything for
themselves. But yet some are accepting the change and are then resulting in the dominance of
technology, although they are ok with the collaboration and do not see that the collaboration is
then inhibiting their teaching. These teachers have gone through years of schooling and are no
longer being shown the same ways to teach anymore rather it is how to incorporate technology
more effectively.

On the other hand, some students may not be ok with the transition and prefer the help
and interaction that teachers can give rather than a facilitator that is just observing. Author
Ramey in the article Use of Technology In The Classroom and Its Benefits up the possibility of
the mixture of the two so that one can support the other. Ramey feels that the collaboration will
technology and students will optimize teaching, Schools should find ways of integrating new
technologies into classrooms so that students find it easy to learn new subjects as well as enable
teachers to explain subjects in detail (Ramey). The author believes that the use of technology
effectively can also be learned and teachers should be learning how to incorporate tech in
classrooms. Another benefit that the author points out about technology that older books lack for
the current curriculum, Many times most subjects in our education curriculum have old
examples which do not relate to the present day, so students will find it difficult to relate those
old examples to the present situation(Ramey). The author is pointing out that the way of
teaching now is outdated and is time for a bit of change for a student's achievement.
Ramsey agrees on with the integration of technology in classrooms and has also written
another article Use of Technology in Classroom - Students Demand It, explains the importance
of technology and students. The basic fact that the upcoming generation is so involved with
technology in their everyday life and because it is something they use all o the time it should be
used in classrooms. The world is changing along with technology and the next generation could
be prepared, Ramsey knows the world is changing and knows that As the world develops, new
opportunities are coming up and for our students to get a chance to compete in tomorrow's
demanding job market(Ramey). Tomorrow's job market will contain much more technology
than today and to prepare students Ramsey feels that the preparation starts in the classroom.

Most students do understand technology very well and use it on a day to day basis but
some do not learn through technology as other do and are left behind in the advancement of jobs
and what those jobs may require. So using technology in the classroom may help with students to
stay connected and to allow distraction and an optimal way to learn for students who want
technology but also want the extra assistance. In the article, The Student-Centered Classroom by
Alecia K. explains the importance of technology in the classroom and how teachers can
incorporate it. He explains three reasons on why technology should be used, first being that
students already know how to use the technology, second students enjoy the technology, and
thirdly students recognize the limitations of technology(Alecia K.) meaning that students
understand that technology cannot help them in everything they want to learn. The author
understands that students need to be taught in a variety of ways and technology is a way to do
that and to use it as a way to interact with students. This article emphasizes the benefits of
technology in the classroom and how it can be used to review material and as well to give helpful
the teacher to get material through the students.
All of these articles reveal the actual importance of technology in the classroom, for the
students future and for teachers to give the material in an easier way. Although some may believe
that technology will be taking over their jobs but yet benefiting students, some students require
the interaction with another person to learn. The new generation is growing up in a world filled
with technology and information can be accessed very easily, and new jobs for this generation
will require some type of knowledge with technology. Using technology in the classroom and
incorporating it to make learning more interactive and more relatable for students can prepare
them.
