This workshop helps parents feed their children in healthy ways, provides strategies, and
suggestions about picky eaters.

AUGUST 2016

Education Issues: Managing Transitions


Date: Friday 18, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with strategies, skills and techniques in understanding and
managing their childs transition. Parents are their child's first teachers and as the child grows, their
emotional needs are different and the role of parents being a teacher may have to transform to that
of an emotional coach with the right communication skills.

SEPTEMBER 2016
Common Childrens Issues: Separation Anxiety
Date: Friday, September 9, 2016
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with suggestions and strategies to deal with their childs
separation anxiety and how to firmly, consistently, and caringly set limits. Parents will be shown
videos or role play examples of how to help out & deal with separation anxiety.

OCTOBER 2016
Education Issues: Reading with Children
Date: Friday, October 21, 2016
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with many hands-on activities for parents to use with their
young reader at home. Parents will be provided with strategies they can use with their child to
help them with early reading. Parents will learn about early literacy activities they can do with
their children at home.

NOVEMBER 2016
Education Issues: Learning Disabilities & Special Education
Date: Friday, November 25, 2016
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop is to engage all families in a positive way that fits with who they are, what they can

provide for their child, and activities that support their childs learning and development. Parents
will be shown videos that provides strategies on ways of helping children with learning disabilities.

DECEMBER 2016
General Development: Emotional & Social Development
Date: Friday, December 9, 2016
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with resources, tips & strategies on how to support Emotional
& social development at school & home.

JANUARY 2017
Discipline: Offering Choices
Date: Friday, February 17, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with strategies, suggestions, & tips when offering choices that
will provide independence to children and will assist in the learning process.

FEBRUARY 2017
Common Children Issues: Sibling Rivalry
Date: Friday, February 3, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with information on issues directly related to parents who have
more than one child or who are expecting a new baby. Will provide strategies & suggestions on
how parents can encourage a healthy, loving relationship between their sibs.

MARCH 2017
Discipline: Positive Intent & Praise
Date: Friday, March 3, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with strategies, suggestions & tips to use when prevention
does not work. This strategies will help children feel a sense of connection, builds life skills and
promotes positive behavior in the long term.

APRIL 2017
Discipline: Setting Boundaries & Power Struggle
Date: Friday, March 17, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop help parents take a respectful look at the child's world and helps parents recognize
the importance of setting limits for their children. This strategies will help children feel a sense of
connection, builds life skills and promotes positive behavior in the long term.

MAY 2017
Discipline: Proactive Techniques
Date: Friday, June 2, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will present parents with a wide range of skills, tips and strategies on stopping
negative behaviors even before they start. This techniques are necessary for parent empowerment
and effective behavior management for their child. It includes role modeling; behavior

modification; age appropriate discipline strategies and developmental skills; the importance of
setting routine and structure; effectively communicating with children; building self-esteem.
Strategies to build better child and parent interaction. It will diminish and even eliminate
unacceptable behavior.

JUNE 2017
Discipline: The Use of rewards & Power Assertive
Date: Friday, June 16, 2017
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm
This workshop will provide parents with a set of communication and conflict resolution skills for
helping them develop and maintain a democratic, mutually satisfying relationship with their
children and with each other. It will encourage disciplinary strategies that promote positive parentchild relationships and keep childrens self-esteem and bodies healthy and intact. Strategies, and
techniques will be provided in the use of rewards & power assertive.
