2 The course was well organized.

Most of the time I had no idea what to do or what we were doing exactly in class. We had the sylabus, but all it had was a title, how was I suppose to know how to do the
assignment to my fullest if it was never explained?
3 The professor followed his/her stated course (syllabus) outline.
very much so about when assignments were due
4 Student responsibilities in this course were defined.
the assignments were on the syllabus but were not always explained clearly as to what was expected of the assignment
5 The professor treated students fairly.
I personally felt like I was being looked at differently from everyone else in the class because he did not consider cheer leading a sport,
volleyball. So therefore I was looked at like I was a lot less atheltic than everyone else. I just really felt out of place in that class. Not an enjoyable experince at all.
6 The professor emphasized conceptual understanding of course material.
Veryy confusing.
7 The professor thoughtfully answered questions raised by students.
People would ask questions, but most the time it seemed like he never had an answer for them. He would change the subject or beat around the bush.
8 The professor provided clear explanations to clarify concepts.
I think the more he tried to explain it the more confusing it got.

9 The assignments contributed meaningfully to my understanding of the subject matter.

I did not understand the assignments, so it was hard to grasp the concept of what we were doing in class.
20 Please feel free to include any other general comments concerning your experience in this course in the space that follows.
The content was good but the professor was overly meticulous with many assignments and overlooked things I did include that the rubric required if it wasn't spelled out.
Also, there were frivolous requirements like writing "pledge" on the back of all of our assignments in order to not lose points, even though by enrolling in GWU we accept
the honor code anyway.

Kind of, for the most part yes.
6 The professor emphasized conceptual understanding of course material.
I wasn't 100% sure what the point of the class was
8 The professor provided clear explanations to clarify concepts.
Not really. He used an online class as an attempt to do that and it didn't work.
9 The assignments contributed meaningfully to my understanding of the subject matter.
Some of them helped, but most of the assignments were busy work that distracted from being able to do the important assignments well. The coursera class was
completely unnecessary. If I'm already paying $35,000 a year to go to this university, why do I need to take a class from another university taught by someone else on
something my professor could have taught me? Plus all the other assignments were due at the same time as the online class was being done so it was difficult to manage
all the assignments at one time. The only helpful assignment was the research proposal. which was organized well.

9 The assignments contributed meaningfully to my understanding of the subject matter.

There were so many assignments sometimes it was difficult to learn the material.
10 Exams and other assessments concentrated on the important aspects of the class.
We did not have tests, only the research proposal paper. Which was on our own. We actually did not have a lot of actual course material.

14 Regular class participation was necessary for understanding course material.

You had to be in class to know what he wanted from all the assignments
15 The text used in this course was:
No textbooks, just books we were supposed to read
19 The final grade I expect to receive in this class is:
Let's hope. It's difficult to make yourself do work that seems pointless. So it was hard to complete most of the work for this class.
20 Please feel free to include any other general comments concerning your experience in this course in the space that follows.
I appreciated everything we did in class, but there were so many assignments that sometimes it was a challenge just to keep up.

In regard to the service learning project, if Dr. Hartman wanted it to be a class thing where both classes did the same thing at the same time, he should have organized it.
It should have been on an individual basis because everyone is busy and people don't always have the same time frames available. Making it on an individual basis would
help the student. In general, there are too many out of class assignments. It adds a lot of extra unnecessary time to the course. Dr. Hartman did a good job of not having
class on certain days where our time was needed elsewhere, but even then, most of the class is done outside of class. It might as well just be an online course

Dr. Hartman is a great teacher and I learned a lot from seminar, good and bad. I learned that Research is not for me but I also learned how to handle taking on the real
world.
