Dr. Hartman taught a normal load of courses for the year, with all courses being inthe Traditional Undergraduate Program,
with the exception of one online eourse in the GOAL. program. Dr. Hartman appears to place high regard on being an
effective teacher. His preparation, attention to detail, and mastery of content ae noticed by his peers and his students
Though Jeff submitted only a brief annual report this year, his past practice of thoroughly efleting on his teaching
performance, as well as committing himself to improvement whenever necessary, are assumed to til be occuring. Student
comments shared with the chair and on SOls confirm the appreciation they have for Dr. Hartman’s teaching. The SOI seores
were slightly below the university FTTF mean in the fall and slightly above inthe spring. Jeff ranked 8" and 6 within the
department (19) during the fall and spring semesters, respectively
Dr. Hartman advised all EXSI majors, and many of the remaining HEWE majors. Jef¥ also accepted the assignment of
‘mentoring a first-year faculty member, Dr. David Granniss. JeiT mentored one student in an ongoing research project,

Dr. Hartman maintained membership in professional associations, participated in the WAC Retreat, and attended two off
campus national conference meetings (SC-ACSM and ACSM). Jeff also maintained an active researeh agenda, with data
collection occurring in multiple projects, with one manuscript nearing completion.D. SERVICE

Dr. Hartman maintained an extremely high level of service to the department/school/university during this past year. In
addition to the normal expectations of department members, Jeff labored tirelessly in his efforts to develop/transition the
EXSI program into the newly created School of Preventive and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, Efforts included service in
development, facility design/renovation, and organizational restructuring,
