Gardner Webb University We have great things in mind. October 13, 2015 Dr. Jeffrey Hartman Associate Professor of Exercise Science School of Preventive and Rehabilitative Health Sciences Campus Box 7216 Dear Dr. Hartman: Ithas always been my belief that personal health is a critical component of our Christian commitment to service for God and humanity. It is only through our personal health and wellness that we make our selves available to effectively serve our families, our communities and a world in need, In an effort to promote a culture of wellness across the Gardner-Webb University campus, I would like to invite you to serve as founding chair of a new Wellness Advisory Council. The mission of the Council is to advise the University on a range of issues related to health, fitness and nutrition particularly as they relate to the campus environment. Membership on the Council will be by presidential appointment for a one-year renewable term, As chair, it would be my hope that you would regularly convene the Council and take primary responsibility for structuring its agenda. It would be up to you and your fellow Council members to decide on the frequency of your meetings and the precise agenda for the first year. I hope you will seriously consider this invitation to share your time and expertise with the Council as we work together to make the University a more healthful, wellness-oriented environment for both our students and our employees. I would respectfully ask that you contact Ms. Glenda Crotts, Senior Assistant to the President (gerotts@gardner-webb.edu), to let her know if you are able to accept this invitation by ‘Tuesday, October 20. Once the Council is assembled, Ms, Crotts will provide you with a list of the members so you can set up the first meeting Warm regards, A.
