Standard 5.1
Artefact 4: Summative post-assessment for a unit on shape, and lesson.

Standard 5.2

Standard 5.5

In the last lesson of the geometry and shape unit, I had students look at their diagnostic pre-tests (Artefact 1) before doing their end of unit
test. This was so that they could see the progress they had made since the first lesson. From seeing their growth, students were able to create
their own feedback on what they had improved the most and what they could work on in the future in order to improve further. This helps to
further show my use of using feedback (standard 5.2) in my lessons in order to engage students deeper into their learning through authentic
learning contexts.

This artefact shows that I

was able to meet standard
5.1 thoroughly, as I had
based my ongoing
assessment and annotated
checklist on the learning
intention.
Students completed an
open-ended summative
post unit test and were
partaking in self-
assessment by reflecting on
their summative test
completed in the lesson.

This lesson and summative

end of unit test, also allowed
me to meet standard 5.5 as I
was able to use these pieces
of assessment in order to
report to my supervising
teacher on student progress.

It also informed me of my
teaching practice and
whether I was able to
appropriately teach students
the unit of work.

The images below show 2 pages of the summative post-assessment that I gave students in the lesson shown above. Within this assessment I
made sure that a lot of the questions on it were open questions instead of closed. I did this to cater to each students learning needs and
abilities, where each student would have the chance to show what he or she understood about the topic. Those who need the challenge could
provide extra information, while those who struggle could just put in what they know.
