mediadoesnteducateoursocietyonhowlargeofanissuethisis.Ihad
originallywantedtocreateacollaborativestorybookanddoreadingsof
thebookaroundthecommunity.Ihadplannedtowriteastorybookand
collectartworkforthebookfromartistsinmycommunity.WhileIwas
fairlyeducatedinthetopicbeforestartingbecauseofitbeingsopersonal
tome,Ididalsodosomeresearchonalldifferenteatingdisordersand
howtheyaffectpeopleallaroundtheworld.Uponcompletingthis
project,Ihaveabetterunderstandingofthewidespreadstigmathat

Beforestartingtheactualproject,Iworkedonmywebsite.Icompleted
professionalandartisticresumes,wroteapersonalcredo,locatedallof
mycollegeessaysandacceptanceletters,anduploadingitallontomy
Weebly.Oncethemajorityofthatwasdone,Ifocusedontheproject
itself.Ibegancreatingmybookbyresearchingandcollectingquoteson
thetopic,andcompilingthemintoacollectionofaround1015pages
worth.Ithenreachedouttofriends,family,andmembersofthe
communitythroughaFacebookpostandbypersonallycontactingsome
peopleIthoughtmightbeinterested.Iendedupwith11illustrationsthat
wentwithspecificquotes,andgottheartworkscanned,uploadedtomy
website,printed,andbound.Uponpostingmyfinalwebsite,Igota
requestfromafriendsmomtopurchasetwocopiesofthebookonefor
herself,andonetouseatChallengeDay,whichImveryexcitedabout.

Ivealwayshadabitofanissuewithprocrastination,andthisproject
wasnodifferent.IsimplydidntgetstartedasearlyasIshouldhave,
whichmeantthatIdidntfinishasearlyasIshouldhave.Thisprojectand
thecourseitselftaughtmenotonlyabouttheimportanceofbeingan
agentofsocialchange,butalsosomevaluableproductivityand
communicationlessonsthatIlltakewithmeintocollegeandmycareer.

impressiononanyonewhocameacrossmyproject,andwhileImstill
collectingresponsesonmysurvey,IthinkthatIachievedmygoal.
AlthoughIdidntreachmyoriginalgoalofdoingreadingsofmybook
becauseoftimemanagementproblemsonmypart,Ireallythinkthatmy
projectwassuccessfulinstartingadialogueabouttheissue.Iwantto
continueupdatingmywebsiteandcollectingresponsesonmyproject,
andImexcitedtoseehowmyprojectwillevolveandgrow,evenafter
mygraduationfromtheArtsAcademy.
