1. Overall I enjoyed reading this play, because of how intriguing it stayed
throughout. The timeline remained rapid and interesting to follow. I understood the plot
of the story fairly easily. I liked how the main characters grew and changed during the
story. I appreciate Lady Macbeths power and strength as a woman. I became lost at times
when multiple characters appeared with similar names. Some of the locations varied and
caused confusion as well.
2. The themes of power and control appealed to me, because those topics frequently
appeared in the story and caused the main characters declines. After I analyzed how
Lady Macbeth and Macbeth strongly desired power and control, I wrote about these two
themes. Good versus evil also showed up in the story and created an interesting contrast
between Macbeth and Lady Macbeths transformations. I believe that the themes of
power and control remain timeless due to the popular want for these traits and the
engaging stories that they create. Comparing and contrasting characters lead to the theme
of good versus evil also continuing forever.
3. I learned that this paper improved my writing skills and organization techniques. I
grew as a writer after realizing the importance of introduction and conclusion funnels. I
feel like growth remains necessary in the speed of my analysis and connection of quotes,
literary devices, and authors purpose. I creation of my thesis statement became easier for
this specific paper. I figured out that the paper process flows faster after the elimination
of helping and being verbs. I enjoyed the multiple steps and checkpoint throughout the
crafting of the paper. I now fully understand how to properly use a semicolon. I learned

how to better analyze a quote without plot summary. After creating the thesis and topic
sentences, connecting quotes to the overall theme became easier.
4. The organization of each step of the paper became essential. First, with the
crafting of the thesis statement, I thought about what I wanted to prove and compared it
to Shakespeares themes and characters. In the beginning of the paper process, I struggled
with varying my word choice and format, but as I continued to brainstorm and write it
came easier for me to add a mixture of ideas. The brainstorm helped me gather my
thoughts and connect my topics and quotes to my thesis. After writing the outline, I
improved my explanation and connection skills. I discovered that using a literary device
in the analysis of the quotes helps with the connection to the themes and the thesis, as
well as the complexity of the paper. The funnels for the introduction and conclusion
helped me visualize how my thoughts change from broad to specific, or vice versa.
Ultimately, each step of the paper writing process helped me slow down and gather my
thoughts to craft an organized paper.
